Okay, guys, here's the deal:

Deleted scenes are deleted for a reason. Yes, every once in a while they contain a gem that was tragically cut for time, but generally, if they contain plot points that don't recur at all in the actual film, it's because the creators decided that wasn't the direction they were going with the movie.

Is it cool to be impressed by the fact that they decided to cut the heterosexual love story (or vagueish romance, in this case) to focus on the homoerotic relationship between the two male leads, when these sort of movies usually amp up the romance to balance out the dudes? Yeah, go ahead. That's pretty cool. What's not cool is to say things like, "Ew, why did they even film that?" or "Thank god they cut the scenes with that bitch!"

Moira is fucking awesome, guys. Moira is a female CIA agent in fucking 1962. Moira (in the actual cut of the film, at least) does not fall for Charles Xavier's shit. Moira does not have a problem running head first into danger. Moira is compassionate towards the mutant cause in a much more level-headed way than Charles' blind pacifism. Moira doesn't blink before drawing a gun on a man she had previous considered almost-a-friend when she thinks he's a threat, even when she knows how fucking powerful he is.

Moira is amazing and Charles, if he decided to go down that path, would be lucky to have her.

Ugh, I wish I still had any of my Moira icons :(

i guess i'm in xmen: fc fandom now, moira is fucking badass
