We're watching That Thing You Do! is pretty much all you need to know.
Becca: I want the story of how they're all friends. Lenny clearly knows Guy pretty well.
Kait: And Faye. And Jimmy sort of knows him, but it doesn't seem like he knows him as well. The others don't know him either.
Becca: Did they all go to high school together? And how come Faye doesn't know Tina?
Kait: We need some backstory here.
Becca: We need to write Tom Hanks a letter. "Dear Tom Hanks. Hope you're well. I really like Band of Brothers, but we have some questions about this movie you made a while ago...."
Mr White: Does anyone back in Erie think Guy is wonderful?
Becca: No! He killed a man! We wanted nothing to do with him! It was supposed to be one night only, but then it turned into this!...oh man, I really want the re-cut trailer of this movie as a thriller with Guy as a serial killer. "Erie's lone beatnik..."
Becca: Why was he stationed in Germany? These are the things I want to know. Dear Tom Hanks: PS... you know, we could probably just watch the commentary.
Kait: Or buy the extended edition that I didn't know existed--
Becca: Extended edition?
Kait: I just read about it on Wikipedia. There's 39 minutes of additional footage!
Becca: No shit! How did I not know about this?!
Kait: I didn't know about it either until I read about it on Wikipedia ten minutes ago! I thought you knew or I would have said something! Mr. White is gay!
Becca: You're making this up!
Kait: No, seriously, there's a scene where he goes out to a bar with some dude!
Becca: It's even called "The Tom Hanks Extended Edition!" 39 additional minutes of footage--I'm definitely making that serial kill re-cut trailer now!
Kait: And there's an extended bit of his break-up with Tina! I bet he makes lots of serial killer faces there!
Becca: $11.99 on Amazon? I'm ordering that shit!
I'm just saying, guys, if Tom Hanks wanted to come hang out at our apartment and talk to us about this movie, he'd feel right at home. We have a giant cut-out of Buzz Lightyear he could chat with.
