Hello, internet! How are you? I'm okay! I'm better than I was yesterday, and I suppose that's all I can ask for.

Here's a video from Pippin. Normally, I don't advocate putting embedded videos above a cut, but... this is Ben Vereen. Also, it's Saturday.

And, for those of you who might be in need of the OBCR of Pippin, well, I just happen to have ( Read more... )

I love Pippin to an unholy, unhealthy degree. It's funny, because when I was "in theatre fandom" (ie, regularly attending the theatre with a group of people), hardly anyone I hung out with was even familiar with Pippin, let alone actively a fan of it, but in broader fandom I have found so many other Pippin fans and it makes me SO HAPPY and I am SO EXCITED for the revival! :D

I only discovered it a couple of years ago. Before that I'd only heard Corner of the Sky, which I never found very remarkable, but then someone told me to listen to the whole thing, and oh! So great! It definitely deserves the revival.

I love Ben! I wanted to be him when I grew up so I could dance like him. (when I was, like, five) And is that William Katt? Thank you for sharing, this was wonderful.

I love Pippin So. Very. Much.

And that's one of my favorite songs.

And Ben Vereen is a god.

And William Katt is just adorable (I had dinner with him once, and didn't realize it, have I ever told you that story. Very embarrassing, actually).

I saw Pippin on Broadway. Then I saw the touring company. Twice. Northern J. Calloway (from Sesame Street) was the Leading Player when I saw it on broadway, and Paula Kelly had the role in the tour. The guy who went on to write Footloose was Pippin in one of the productions. I was in love with John Rubinstein for decades because of that show, despite the fact that I never saw him in it. I know you don't care about any of this. But, I just had to share...

(thank you for making my day better)
