Still super behind, so no commentary today. I'd say "sorry," but I'm sure you're all relieved.

There Must Be Fifty Ways to Leave Your Lover

eighteen;

Title: Youthful Indiscretion
Fandom: The West Wing
Pairing: Josh/Sam
Rating: G
Summary: Josh can't be distracted from his goals.

Josh has always known he wants to go into politics. (Well, aside from those awkward years when he fell in love with the word "ballerina," that is.) He reads the paper daily and voraciously. He makes time every day for the news. He surrounds himself with books on history. He's taken advantage of his summer in Washington to connect with political power players.

He knows what he wants. He knows what he has to do. He's been a little clumsy, this first summer on a Hill, a little too excited to keep himself focused on his future. He's had a few indiscretions, indiscretions that have a name.

He likes Sam. Sam might be the best friend he's ever had. But Sam is young and naive and wears his heart on his sleeve. That's a terrible combination in Washington and Josh knows it.

Josh isn't happy when he waves goodbye to Sam at the end of the summer, but he knows what he has to do. He'll forget to call and the letters will taper off and everything will be fine. Because Josh has always known he wants to go into politics, and he can't let Sam's sweet smile distract him from that goal.

Title: Convincing Liar
Fandom: The Office
Pairing: Oscar/Andy
Rating: G
Summary: Oscar is good at convincing himself.

Oscar can convince himself he never liked Andy. He can convince himself that Andy is an idiot, that Andy was a distraction, that Andy was someone who passed the time between Gil and whatever was going to come next.

Leaving Gil wasn't hard, exactly, but it was disappointing. He had always imagined he'd be settled down in an excellent job by this age. He imagined, by this time, dating would be over and real life would have begun. He was annoyed when he started to realize that he didn't really want to spend the rest of his life with Gil, that he was trapped in a job at a failing company, that he was surrounded by idiots.

He was in a slump. Then came Andy.

If he says it enough, he can convince himself it's true. He can forget that sometimes when Andy was there, Oscar put his expectations aside to just be happy. He can forget that Andy was genuinely sweet and genuinely fun when he wasn't driving Oscar crazy.

Andy was a distraction. Nothing more. So this thing with Erin? It doesn't hurt. And if it does, just a little... well, Oscar can convince himself to forget that, too.

Title: Reassessment
Fandom: In Plain Sight
Pairing: Mary/Bobby D
Rating: R
Summary: Bobby's not exactly sure how this happened.

Bobby's not exactly sure how this happened. Well, the knows the mechanics. He's just not sure how he ended up pinned to a chair by Mary Shannon, who is hot as hell but not someone Bobby expected to have a chance with. Between the baseball player boyfriend (ex-boyfriend?) and the lovelorn partner, Mary seemed pretty damn off limits.

Of course, now she's she's sinking onto his lap, swearing as he fondles her breasts, so perhaps it's time for a reassessment.

It's as hot as he imagined it would be, though. Maybe hotter. It's hard to tell. He was so distracted by the absurdity of it that the first part is a blur. His briefs are hanging from a lamp and her bra is on the fridge, so it must have been something.

They dress quickly, and once they're reasonably unruffled, they look at each other. It's going to tick over to awkward any moment now, and Bobby finds himself disappointed. He likes Mary. He'd have liked to stay friends.

"So," Mary says, just seconds before they reach the point of no return, "we gonna catch this son of a bitch or go for round two?"

Bobby grins, and when Mary leaves, he follows her.

Title: Recalled to Earth
Fandom: Stargate Atlantis
Pairing: Sam/Radek
Rating: PG
Summary: It's supposed to be a routine meeting.

"It's a routine meeting," Sam says, tugging her shirt from Radek. He tugs back, rewarded with her laughter. He knows he's not going to win, but he hopes to have some fun, at least. Samantha takes certain things very seriously. Her career is one of them. "A report on Atlantis under my leadership."

"Blossoming," Radek says, and lets go of her shirt. She staggers back, laughing again, before sitting on the edge of the bed and kissing him.

"I wouldn't say 'blossoming,'" she says. "Though we have been doing remarkably well."

"You are wonderful," he tells her. "Truly. I would not be surprised if they gave you a medal before sending you back."

Sam pulls her shirt on and shakes out her hair, her cheeks pleasantly flushed with embarrassment.

"I'll be back soon," she assures him, grabbing her jacket from the back of the chair. She kisses him again, lingers longer, and Radek can feel affection bubbling up inside his chest. He knows what he wants to say, but he doesn't know if this is the proper time to say it.

"I will wait right here until you return," he says with gravity. He'll have plenty of time, then, to tell her he loves her.
