So, some things.
Yeah, I'm late to the party, but like I explained to
shala, I like to watch stuff on my teevee rather than DL it if possible. It makes it possible for me to do more than one thing at a time. I have a very short attention span.
ANYWAY. Watched it tonight on SciFi and... oh my gosh, Internet, could this show get any cuter? I don't think I've outright talked about my feelings on Torchwood, but I've vaguely mentioned it at least, so you're probably not surprised to learn I'm not a fan. I really, really want to be! I can't express in words how much I want to like this show, but I just can't manage it. Everyone claims that the writing actually, you know, isn't crap in S2, but it's still not the show I want it to be. Or a show I can even really like? My brain still hurts. Also, while I can acknowledge that John Barrowman is attractive, I don't understand why everyone in the world is in love with Jack? Or--well, this isn't a laundry list of complaints about Torchwood, because I know a lot of you are fans, and I don't begrudge you that.
THE POINT IS, that I watched The Sarah Jane Adventures and it's basically the cutest thing I've ever seen. I loved almost every second of it and wanted to hug everyone and had a huge grin on my face for most of the time. SO SO SO CUTE! :D :D :D Oh, I love Sarah Jane SO MUCH and I was a bit freaked out when I realized that, as
shala pointed out, that she's total MILF material because she is older than my mother. Oh gosh.
Anyway, I've already added it to my DVR thingy and I'm looking forward to more episodes!

So, I finished Runaways the other day as well. I generally loved it to pieces. As I explained to
harmonyangel, BKV is the person who got me back into comics my sophomore year of college (I read Ex Machina, Y The Last Man, and the first bit of Runaways all right after one another) so I have a soft spot in my heart for him. I really enjoyed his run on the book, save for some issues I had with Karolina and Xavin. I had a lot of questions/issues about Karolina's sexuality and Xavin's human forms, but Joss' run actually settled those questions really well for me. I fully approved of and enjoyed the way he handled all of the questions and how the characters talked about it with each other. I liked that not everyone was cool with it, and I loved that he had Xavin in her female human form more often than not and how Karolina objected whenever she wasn't in that form. Very nice work.
The rest of his run... eh. There was a lot of focus on all of these new characters and less on our heroes (or antiheroes, perhaps) that I thought was kind of "eh." We'll see how things are resolved (you know, in fifteen years when he finally finishes.).
I loved the "Molly's Journal" catch-up issue. I admit--I teared up a little. And Gert's death nearly killed me. Gosh, but I loved her a lot D: The Astonishing X-Men crossover was cute. I did NOT love the Young Avengers crossover. At all. I have a list of issues a mile long, so I'm mostly going to pretend it doesn't exist.
Two completely ridic lines that stick out in my head and make me randomly crack up from time to time:
"It's like my heart is having a pizza party!" (which you may notice is now the title of my journal)
"I'm going to go bang my head against the wall until the Staff of One comes out again."

SGA Recs:
If you have not read this, you are crazy:
John Sheppard's Guide to Surviving Project Runway by
sheafrotherdon Basically, a fusion of SGA and PR, obvs, and it is AMAZING. OH MY FUCKING GOD. They're all designers and Tim and Nina and Heidi and everyone are all there! You'd think it would all be stupid crack, but there are actually HEARTFELT MOMENTS and emotional tension and it's just FAB. Oh my god. It's also HILARIOUS. Ronon cuts his fabric with knives! Teyla has "people!" Kolya is a uniform designer! John makes everything black! Seriously, why haven't you read this already? Even if you don't watch SGA it's worth it for some truly fabulous Tim lines XD
Game Night by
omglawdork In wake of Rodney's post-"Quarantine" depression, John invests in a game console in an attempt to make Rodney smile the way he did when they were playing "The Game." It's hilarious and adorable and it takes John and Rodney the entire story to realize the reason they're so intent on making each other happy is because they're in love with each other. The highlight is really when Rodney steals Ronon's Wii. Oh my GOD. I'm still laughing just thinking about it.

One last reminder: writing chat thingy! Tomorrow at 12pm EST! You should come! I'll basically be rolling right out of bed for this one, so don't be surprised if it starts exactly on time and not a little early.
Anyway, time to either try and write something for
itsproductivity or go to bed early. Being depressed is for lame-os, guys, and I am apparently one of them.
