back from the dead sort of.

So, sorry for disappearing for the past few days. Or maybe you're thrilled. WHO KNOWS. Basically I was either a) in ridiculous pain, b) stoned out of my mind on pain killers, or c) at the bookstore since Tuesday, so I've been avoiding posting. Um. I didn't avoid commenting on some things? So if you got a kind of messed up comment from me this week, I apologize? Yeah.

That being said, I have a) redone my layout, b) made a new default icon, and c) watched the Make Me A Supermodel reunion special in the past few hours. Good times. I'm glad the rest of the world was as perversely obsessed with the Ben/Ronnie trainwreck as I was. I'm also glad that everyone on the cast agrees that Ronnie is very good at being gay. That was kind of hilarious. Also when they did the "Serenades" clipshow. I nearly died. "Not only do we write hit song after hit song, but we have really great cheekbones." Oh Perri. I have grown to love you.

Anyway, I have a SHIT TON of recs to post tomorrow because today was like, the day when everyone posted awesome things. GIRL SCOUT COOKIES? REALLY? OH MY GOD. SENTIENT TABLE PODFIC? HOW DID THIS ALL HAPPEN IN ONE DAY? And while I was seeing Fight Girl Battle World with moonsheen and my dad, at that! (And that was a whole additional drama: TheatreMania lost my tickets. We almost didn't get in.)

But the recs are coming tomorrow along with a) hopefully a mcsmooch ficlet, b) my highlights and lowlights of S4, c) WHO IS GOING TO SHORE LEAVE? Basically asking that, and d) maybe some photos or something.

But I did a few memes, and here are the results before I go to bed and stuff.

***

1. Comment on this post and I will pick four or five of your icons to explain.
2. Post the results in your journal and offer to do the same for others.
3. Do people really need instructions for this meme?

From alorarose

1.

From Shaun of the Dead. By me, keywords are "you've got read on you." It's a repeated line ("you've got red on you.") which starts with a leaking pen and then starts to hilariously include blood as well. It's kind of my, "Oh my god, really? Sigh." icon. The, "the joke's on me" icon.

2.

Icon by nerdork. Keywords are "george washington slept here." From The Daily Show's Continental Skiff Boat Oarsmen for Veracity bit. It was clearly mocking the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. It was Continental Army veterans claiming that Washington didn't really cross the Delaware. Sam Bee played a woman who claimed he couldn't because she was sleeping with him. "My evidence be Syphilis." AWESOME. I use it when... I feel like it.

3.

From Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No-Good, Very-Bad Day by Judith Voirst. Icon by _morning_glow. The keywords are "I want to move to austrailia" because that's what Alexander says as the day gets worse and worse. For bad days. Clearly.

4.

From Studio 60, icon by coloneljack. The keywords are "catnap" and "lobsternap, really." In the show, Tom (<3333 Tom <3333) does a sketch wearing a lobster suit. We never actually see the sketch, just Tom running around while wearing it and later passed out asleep in it. Clearly this is the cutest thing ever. It's one of my three "tired" icons and was my default for like, two days this week.

The fifth one she chose was also chosen below SO I WILL EXPLAIN IT THERE.

From omgimnaked:

1.

A quote from SGA. (Rodney in "Hide and Seek." "I didn't faint, I passed out. From... manly hunger.") By everlyn. I... never use this icon. I should. Because it's awesome. Oh Rodney. I think you're very manly. Especially when you saunter down the stairs in "Doppelganger." Nngh.

2.

Katy Pfaffl! By me! Keywords are "beautiful" because the lyrics on the icon are from her song "Beautiful." Um, this is one of the first icons I ever made and I just can't get rid of it because I love Katy and I love the idea behind the lyrics and I love the look on her face and... everything. I use it when I'm talking about her or when I find the words on it to be true.

3.

Whenever I do this meme, someone asks about this icon! It's Nate Corddry from TDS. By sweetafton23 and the keywords are "you could call it hunting." It was from the New Years' Resolution segments from... gosh, I guess like 2006? Oh man, so Nate's resolution is to "show them, show them all." It's hilARious, and if you have five minutes, you should watch it here. Anyway, one of the people he wants to "show" is Neil Patrick Harris, who "stole" the role on Barney in How I Met Your Mother from him and the icon shows the end of the segment when he's pacing his apartment, calling various places to plot NPH's demise. Oh my god, hilARity. He's so freaking adorable. I just want to squish him.

I also took that "What Disney Girl Are You?" quiz because the answers were SO ADORABLY DRAWN. Mine is

You scored as Violet
She's quiet, reserved, and insecure, Violet is definitely out of place amongst her super powered family. However, much like you, she just needs to step out of herself and trust that she's a truly awesome person, and that people really do like her! You don't need super powers to be truly incredible!
