Time.
Tick.
Time was a strange thing for Sanada. He didn't love it, he didn't hate it, he often didn't really think about it. But time was strange for Sanada. Sometimes time just crawled for Sanada. Things took forever to happen, even if they really didn't.
Tick.
He wasn't sure why this was, but it felt to him like everything took far longer then it should. Forget years passing, how about the next hour? It just seemed to...sludge by. Like a slug who has managed to slide it's way onto patch of hot tar. Of course, it never really stopped, but the way it passed for him was simply....well, strange.
Tick.
Douglas Adams once wrote the words: Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so. (A Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy.) Sanada didn't quite believe that. He liked lunch, to be perfectly honest.
Tick.
During one of the times he'd actually stopped to consider this, Sanada had concluded that time was different for everyone. Everyone had their own hourglass and the sands within fell differently. His just happened to have...trickling sand.
Tick.
Actually, it wasn't always like that. Of course not. But it seemed like the good moments all ended an instant before they even started. It was the only time 'time' sped up for him. He didn't like that very much.
Tick.
It was another day of work, just filled with 'tick, tick, tick'. He didn't mind it, really. It was, at times, aggravating, but he could deal with it. He liked his work, even if he was on cleanup duty in the bar area. He liked his coworkers, though yes, Hasshi was just a tad awkward. Sanada noticed he got especially awkward when one of the evening regulars showed up. He didn't really think about it though.
Tick.
A group of salarymen had just left and Sanada bustled over to their just vacated table, gathering up the various bottles and glasses that litter its surface and placing them on his tray. He picked it up with care as he headed to the bar. He can't drop anything. It's been two weeks since he broke something, a record, if there was ever a thing. From the looks of it, Totsuka was winning off of it too.
Tick.
“Sanada!” His boss appeared out of nowhere. Takizawa Hideaki. Handsome, charming, just a bit of a space headed spazz who had the weirdest sense of timing that bordered on terrible. “Hashimoto! Come meet your new work fellow!” Next to Takizawa stood a boy their age and the man cheerfully shoved him forward. “This is Nozawa Yuuki~!”

The new boy scuffed his feet in shyness, glancing from one boy to the other, before puffing his cheeks. Letting them blow out a moment later, he managed a smile, which made a whole lot of difference. As might the pink spreading over his cheeks as he mumbled a greeting. “Yoroshiku onegaishimasu...” Nozawa Yuuki was completely adorable.

A split second later (so small, what did he even call them?) Sanada fell over with a crash.
