My stepmom had surgery yesterday. She had fibroids in her uterus that were causing problems, so she had a partial hysterectomy. Everything went well. For the moment she's in pain, but she's recovering. We're finding out today how long they plan to keep her at the hospital. So there's that.

I was going through my old Myspace blogs today and found a villanelle poem that I wrote for my creative writing class in spring '09. As much as I like to write, I've never been very good at poetry.
