April was insane. I had a ton to do and hardly enough time to do it in.
I mentioned in a previous post that I'd be photographing for the Yarn Crawl event in mid april. Alethea and I went to about eight or nine shops and got some great photos and great yarn. I'll have a post about that up with photos soon. For now you can
click here for a link to the set on my Flickr account.
Yarn Crawl had a photo contest this year and I was one of the grand prize winners (of 5). That was my first ever photo contest win. Despite that I felt a bit like a shoe-in for the contest, there were quite a few amazing photos; I definitely had some competition.

yay me!
The Fundraiser for Lorna has been going well. In the first two weeks alone we raised $1000. We're now at $1375! We've also been receiving a lot of help in regards to the physical bake sale/fundraiser we're planning for July. You can also
click here for the facebook event page. We found a place to host here in Echo Park, my friend/neighbor Tannis offered her studio Pilates and Arts. More on this in a later post. It's amazing how many people have been offering to help, we're all very grateful.
Tomorrow I'm going to be photographing the Bach, Rock and Shakespeare, which is a performance my old high school has been putting on for the last 10 years. I can't believe 10 years ago I was a freshman! The performance is at the Greek Theater and consists of an orchestral concert, a play (sometimes Shakespeare, sometimes not), and a battle of the garage bands. It's actually always pretty fun. After graduating I made a habit of going every year just to support the school. This year orchestra alumni were asked to participate, but I haven't lifted a violin since graduation and am much better at photography, so I offered and they accepted. Yay! I'll post about it.
As for the rest of the resolutions:
I've lost ten pounds!
I've been catching up on reading quite a bit. I soon expect to finally get to the GRRM A Song of Ice and Fire series.
Alethea has been helping me build a website. It's on a small hiatus right now, but I'll be getting to it soon.
Resolutions for May:
Finish uploading the Yarn Crawl Photos so I can blog about it.
Get my tattoo.
Go to the dentist. I have an appointment at the end of the month.
Obviously continue to work on the fundraiser.
