Against Me! played the Corner Hotel last night.
I can't even begin to describe the amount of raw, pure power that boils in this band. Sure, it's all going to come down to your own subjective experience, but fuck... Ah, i can only make grunted, affirmative noises mixed with occasional profanties when talking about how excellent seeing Against Me! live is. It sort of feels like a cultural event when you're there, buried amongst people - something you'll nostalgically reflect upon in years time when your telling youngsters it was 'better' back in the 'day.' I don't know, i may be full of shit and still giddy from the experience. Of course, it wasn't all great, and as Van noted, it seemed a bit scripted - [insert 'thank audience' here] at the start of [insert the track T.S.R. here], and don't forget to thank [insert support bands here] - which is exactly what you hear on the live album. But, they're getting bigger and bigger and no doubt this will happen. And i still can't tell if i like Tom Gabel or not. But, nonetheless, i've seen them twice now and those two shows have been some of the best experiences of my gigging-life.
