So *pnish* decided to release a more-detailed summary of the show's plot (actually...more like PRE-plot, giving a little more backstory) on the official rehearsal blog! Translation powers, GOOOOOOO!

There is a tale that has been passed down in this country since ancient times, a legend centered around Kapilavastu Castle, which towers over the heart of the country. It's quite an ancient tale, so everyone tends to treat it as simple folklore now, but...on this long, autumn night, please lend your ear to this tale.

◆Long, long agin, this country had a king named Niganda, who was born with the terrible power to consume souls. Niganda gathered others with powers like his own, who called themselve the Six Shigedou [T/N: "Shi" means "practitioner, someone who has a certain ability", and "gedou" can mean something like a heretic or a demon/devil/bad person.] and were always at his side. None who knew of Niganda's terrible power dared draw near to him, and before long he was ruling the nation as he pleased.
◆One evening, a young man named Kapilavastu, from a forest outside of the country, had a dream. In it, his dead mother told him, "You were born to save this country."
◆Kapilavastu travelled to the city and was surprised: the city was completely ruined by Niganda's arrogance and a dreadful stench had fallen over everything, and the place was overflowing with gaunt citizens suffering from hunger and disease.
◆The citizens told him, "Tonight, when the blue moon rises, King Niganda will call on the gods to grant his wish and receive eternal life." Astounded, Kapilavastu hastened to the castle, slipping inside the silent walls. Soon, he found himself before a door in the depths of the castle, and when he opened it...Niganda was right in the middle of calling upon the gods with his six shigedou!
◆Kapilavastu rushed in with the speed of a hurricane, easily dispatching of the six shigedou, who fluttered about in panic. Niganda cried out these cursed words with all his might, "Damn you, Kapilavastu! My soul is immortal, and I will surely make you regret this!"
◆At that moment, the moon in the sky reached its zenith, and God showed himself on the altar, bathed in light, saying, "I will grant you one wish." Kapilavastu replied with, "Please grant this country everlasting peace, and let everyone smile again."
◆The wish was granted, and the citizens became happy and smiling again. The country took on Kapilavastu as its new ruler, and after that continued to be protected by the gods, and everyone lived happily ever after.

Still further details are available in the pamphlet, so please review them there! Our play will open on the very day of the festival held once a year, the Durga Puja festival. Please enjoy this one-day-only festival in a country steeped in legend! We'll be waiting for you at the theater.
