CHARACTER(S): Muraki (
nagasakivampire) and Katze (
kit_katze)
STATUS: Open / Ongoing
SUMMARY: Katze returns Yuuta's body. Muraki creeps.
LOCATION: Infirmary
Katze had seen death before. Many times before. It wasn't uncommon for mongrels to die and when he'd been young he'd certainly seen his fair share of bodies. Whores frozen in alleys. Want to be mobsters who had been shone their place. Death had never truly bothered him. And with Iason...he'd grown used to the concept.
But this was different. Infinitely worse. Yuuta had been a child. Innocent or no, Katze had felt a strong affection for the boy. And now he was gone. He'd held the tiny body and not given him up. The logical part of his brain (what was left of it) insisted he simply wanted to examine the pink-haired medic to find out how he'd died. The other part knew that was an utter lie and he couldn't bear to let go just yet.
He waited nearly two days. Staring at the slight frame covered with a sheet. He'd taken some of Yuuta's extra clothing and changed him. He'd cleaned him off and combed his hair. He wasn't a praying man, to any god, and he doubted Yuuta had been. The eunuch didn't sleep deeply and when he napped it was to dreams of Yuuta snuggling against his side in the cafeteria, amazed by his card tricks.
At last he'd gathered up Yuuta's body in a blanket, carrying him protectively against his chest back toward the infirmary. Not that he wanted to return him but he hardly had means for a burial or whatever it was they did here. He knew Yuuta wasn't in that shell just as he'd known Iason was not in the ashes scattered around Dana Bahn.
He entered the infirmary and simply stared at Muraki, amber eyes tired and blank. He could show a normal face to the world, even when he thought his chest might collapse from the effort of maintaining his composure. Katze didn't want to give Yuuta over to the man. He had no proof...nothing to go on but suspicion. Suspicion and the words of the pretty pet who had also disappeared.
He'd told Hisoka he would protect Yuuta. He'd lied. The fact that Hisoka was no longer here to tell him that just made it worse.
The redhead stood there, waiting for instruction. It was obvious enough what he was here for.
