DATE: Feb 8 CHARACTER(S): Kevin Ford/Rose Tyler STATUS: closed/maybe Josh later? Dunno. SUMMARY: He invited her to dinner, and she accepted LOCATION: Cabin 409
She found the cabin easily enough and was curious as to what sort of food they'd be eating. Definitely different than what she was used to back on her parallel universe but the thought was something that was better than thinking about other recent things.
She heard his voice and waited with a grin. She was always one to make new friends and at least in this universe she could actually say her name without fearing some sort of collapse.
"Good evening, Kevin," she greeted back with a small grin against her lips as she drew in a breath smelling the food and it was delightful. "Smells good," she said moving past him to step inside and then turn to look at him. "So what are we having tonight?"
Kevin smiled, shutting the door behind her. "T'aint much, an' you'll learn we ain't got meat, so we gotta make do." He shrugged. He motioned for her to precede him into the small dining area. "But tonight..." He grinned holding her chair out for her. "Tonight my Mama's chili recipe, grandmama's cornbread, an' my aunt's fried okra."
Good, heavy, southern food. He missed it. "Ain't no alcohol neither." This food went best with a beer. "So, what kinda juice would ya like? Got pomegranate, blueberry, or... somethin' I ain't rightly sure what it is, but my room mate promises is juice." He said, while dishing up dinner.
She followed his lead inside listening about the food that they were about to have and finding it to be just as interesting as it smelled. For sure she thought it'd be good. And really a bit of a change from bangers and mash among other food that she normally ate.
"You normally cook with it?" she asked curiously before taking a seat and giving the selections of what to drink some thought. "Blueberry would be fine, thanks." she smiled at him. "So what's your room mate's name? And will they be joining us?"
Kevin chuckled. "Not fer cookin'." He said, with a smile. "Food like this goes best with an ice cold beer." He grinned, bringing their food over. "Or at least that's what my Daddy always tol' me." He set her plate on the table with a wink.
Turning away, he fetched their drinks and slid into his seat. "My room mate?" He shrugged. "Guy's name is Josh Foley. I'm sure ya'll meet golden boy, eventually." He grinned. "Don't worry, it's what he is." He got up and fetched the butter, sliding it onto the table, with a smile. "Don't rightly expect him tonight. Ain't real sure where he is."
Kevin motioned to her food. "Go ahead an' dig in. It ain't fancy, but it's fillin'."
