I got to see Rafa win the Olympic gold medal in singles! HURRAH! VAMOS!
The medal ceremony was a joy. To see Djoko (who won the bronze) and Gonzalez (whom I am not a fan of but looked radiant nonetheless) and Rafa (GOLD!) standing side by side, smiling, proud, looking just wonderful. Djoko had the most lovely smile. I don't need to say anything for Rafa, the boy looked, well, golden.

Phelps won his 8th gold. Big whoop. He's beaten Mark Spitz's record. 2012 will be the years the Aussies strike back. CMON!
Dunno if I wrote that Fed won the doubles with his teammate Stan Wawrinka. My poor Swedes :( Oh well!
It was a Russian sweep in women's singles: Gold for Elena Dementieva (FINALLY! Golden Elena for USO 2008!), Silver for Dinara Safina (Dinara for 2008 is OK too) and Bronze for Vera Zvonereva. DAVAI!
That's it for me with the Olympics. Track and field bores me (plus I *hated* it in high school). Swimming's over, tennis is done. Diving will keep me interested but that's it.
