So much to update!

First off, since I haven't mentioned it all since it happened on Sunday...

VAMOS RAFA, Roland Garros champion for the fourth straight year!

I was quite disappointed with the match though. I was nervous before it, I mean really nervous! I thought Rafa had a pretty good chance of losing to Federer. Yes, yes, everyone was saying that this was the best the Spaniard had played EVER and all of that stuff, but I believe that anything's possible in tennis, so I waited until after the match was over to make any predictions.

Yes I know that makes no sense.

But OMG, I did not expect such a huge beatdown! People guessed either Rafa would totally kick Roger's bottom or Roger would take the match in five. The former happened and boy did it! I haven't seen Roger get a bagel (6-0) since...never? Apparently this was his first since 1999--and that was before I started watching tennis avidly. Holy shiitake, I couldn't believe my eyes when Rafa got the win. I'm super happy that he won, naturally, and that he matches Bjorn Borg's record of four straight French Open titles, but...sigh, I dunno. Even the double bagelling of Lleyton Hewitt in the 2004 US Open final was somewhat well-fought (the second set went 7-6 to Roger, so a bit of a comeback there from Hewitt). But on Sunday, Rafa served a 6-1, 6-3, 6-0 walloping to the world no. 1.

Oh and Ana Ivanovic beat Dinara Safina in the women's final. That was a much better match (yeah, you read right. I actually watched a women's final for the first time in a long time--especially a Grand Slam final--and it was more competitive throughout than the men's final). Rafa just overpowered Roger completely.

For you non-tennis fans...here's the non-tennis related part of the post.

In other news, I had some family visit me on Saturday, which was fabtastic. It was ridiculously hot this weekend (I kind of thrive in it though so I didn't mind it that much) so any walking around pretty places was out of the question. We had lunch at a pan-Asian place (note to self: When the guy takes your order as veggie, also say you don't want eggs in it. I eat eggs but I don't like them on my Thai food) and afterwards, went to the movies. We watched Kung Fu Panda, which was actually not bad. Some jokes were really super juvenile but...it is a kids' movie. Overall though, I enjoyed it. I'm a kung fu nerd, so I enjoy it in cartoon form as well.

The new Coldplay CD comes out next Tuesday. I had a sneak peek (listen?) of the album and I really like it. I'll have to listen to it a few times but I'm a die hard fan, so of course I will approve. I've realised though, that it takes a while for some of the stuff to rub off on me. Even though I've loved their first and second albums, the meanings of the songs became much clearer only recently, when I listened to the songs over and over again. And with the third album, X&Y, it took me a good few listens to appreciate the songs more than I had initially. Oh Coldplay. I love you. Three more weeks till the big concert!!!

Um, what else? Nothing else really. I'll be posting a review of Little Children on
feastsandflicks later on today. Check it out if you have the chance :) Oh and I'll be putting up a recipe as well, since I took pics of a dish I made on Sunday. Hurrah for productivity!

Top Chef finale tomorrow. I'm SO nervous!
