http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/PlumeNoir/~3/kmffLqdkx24/ha-ha-as-said-like-nelson-of-course.htmlI mentioned a couple of months back about what my father has been going through with Canada Pension after my deceased mother's ex-boyfriend decided to claim widow's support (even though they were only together for six months and not actually married, this is our government.) They had deducted nearly $300.00 from his usual Canada Pension payments which left him with enough money to pay his rent - and that's it.
Since A. & I live here, we've obviously helped my father through the past few months by paying rent & covering the groceries as well as taking over part of the Rogers Cable bill (hence why I am so angry at them right now). My father asked Guaranteed Income Supplement (available to the elderly who are not retired but unable to work) to re-adjust his benefits so he could go back to supporting himself - as he should be able to. This was in August of 2010.
Today we received a letter stating my father will be getting $894.00 a month on top of his Canada Pension of around $500.00 - so he will be able to easily pay his rent, cover his groceries & keep basic cable & a phone & an internet connection once I am gone. He's also getting $500.00 in the next two days to cover what he didn't receive since August. I think it's finally a score one for the little guys here, my father is extremely excited to be getting money right around Christmas time. It's going to help A. & I save money as well since I won't be spending my own money on our smokeables - my father wants to spend the holidays incredibly stoned so he's buying some & sharing with us. Instead I can buy little things that I want or save money for New Years or my birthday.
Speaking of my birthday, I've decided to have a BIRTHDAY EXTRAVAGANZA this year! I've had some okay birthday parties in the past but most of the time I felt like I didn't really deserve to have a party or I didn't have enough friends that would actually show up for me to have a successful party but in the past two years I've made some really awesome friends & met some bad ass people who do want to celebrate my birthday with me!
Jessi & I have already begun planning - there is talks of her boyfriend DJing for it as well which would be really cool as I've never had a DJ for any of my get togethers or parties in the past (as if I could afford to hire someone). I am making decorating plans already - I'm hoping to clear out a lot of the furniture in my room for maximum space. I want to clean the kitchen closet out a little bit so that I can put the guinea pigs in there so no one will bother them & they won't be disturbed by the noise & smoke.
I am also going to create a birthday outfit which I briefly talked about on Tumblr but I think I will otherwise keep it a secret so the attendees can be excited (I'm totally one of those people you hope show up just to see what the fuck kind of shit I am attempting to wear). I can tell you that Jessi had made plans to go to Burger King & steal a crown so we can truly create a BLACK FEATHERED CROWN. Did I mention my party's theme is feathers? How could it not be? I've asked all those invited to wear some feathers to show their appreciation of me - whether it be a native style headdress, a couple of feathers in their hair, a brooch with some feathers, a shirt with a feathered design, a bag made of feathers - it's a pretty easy & open theme and for those who couldn't find anything to participate, I will be creating party favours on theme that can be used :)
I am also known for my great love of food so I am hoping to create a really fantastic menu - especially since 80% of my friends are huge pot heads and pot heads love food. I know that it will include rainbow cake, ice cream cone cupcakes & sushi for sure.
I have been a little feather crazy lately, but if you love feathers as much as I do, you should follow my new project
FEATHERS AS FASHION.
