well hello chicadees,.. what a fine day it is...a fine day indeed...to be FUCKING SINGLE!! YEAH!! i had my extra dark belgian chocolate truffles, what else do i need?!?
ive had my head in my ass lately because ive been quite busy trying to do things that make me feel like im actually in the fashion business. in fact, i got my first job at the end of last month! i was styling for a young talento named ookura azusa who is a little gothic lolita hime (although you would never be able to tell as her regualar clothing reeks of liza lisa shibuya-kei~_~) http://www.victorianmaiden.com/ i got money (CASH!) to go shopping and buy whatever the hell i wanted that fit the image of what we were going for. the shoot itself was great, i got some cute little panies and blouses and capes, some girly necklaces, and some streetwear dance type stuff all in one and a half days time and all from takeshita dori/studio alta...i put it on her, and at the end of the day i got PAID!! and i got to (had to?!) keep the stuff... although i was buying for a 14 year old girl, not me! damn...
the producer of the above shoot continues to call me for jobs, but i have school during the week... and while i can miss a day here and there (ive only missed *one* day this entire year...and even missing the one day kept me lost for several weeks trying to catch up!) i cant miss too much... if i dont graduate i cant get a workers visa since i dont have a BA... its a fine line to tread.
i also have a shoot this weekend, and one next weekend. i feel quite lucky because i was planning on buying a bunch of clothes for this weekend's shoot since i dont have anything i want to use for it and i just figured out what i want to do pretty much yesterday. i have been working with an aquaintance's brand at the ROOMS fashion brand exhibition (for buyers and editors/press etc only) as a model/helper and they said they would let me use their conceptual pieces for the shoot! everything is very torn apart and rotting away and falling apart- on purpose of course, and all hand stitched.
working at the exhibition has been tough... its at the yoyogi stadium and there are so many brands vying for attention from a handful of powerful people, but i have been able to meet some interesting ones so far. including gaspard yurkievich (very french...hmmm. VERY french , yes) http://www.gaspardyurkievich.com/ , mihara yasuhiro http://www.sosu.co.jp/ hiroko koshino (scary as hell!) http://www.hirokokoshino.com/ as well as a super famous japanese stylist oomori yuko (a super sweet lady, it was such a pleasure to meet her!) , some editors from fashion news, so-en, and vogue nippon, and some other tall western designer who i didnt recognize but apparently he is opening a new store in omotesando on the 23rd so he must be big. my feet kill and all i do is stand there, but i get to change into different outfits, including $800 sleek trenches (which i get to keep as a gift! yipeee!!) so its all good. tomorrow is from 10am to 6pm...i hope my feet dont crap out on me!
i finished finals last week ...all eight of them... which is more finals than ive ever had at one time in my life, and now we have 12 days to finish some tailored pants. im pretty much on schedule and im making these great widelegged pants out of a shiny heavy black cotton called wepon/weapon/uepon ...
and now its midnight and i need to sleep or die tomorrow!
