So this morning it was chilly out. I, thinking that a hot beverage would be nice on such a morning, went to the Starbucks in our one student center for a cup of hot chocolate. The line was enormous but I figured I'd wait because I would only be late for Equine Lamness and Dr. Marshal wouldn't care. So I'm standing in line and it's finally my turn and I ask the girls behind the counter for what I want, right? Well they're frazzled but they're all over it and whatnot so the barista or whatever takes the milk and puts it in the hot, frothy thing and goes on to pour another person's coffee. So I'm standing there, thinking that the milk has probably been in there long enough but whatever, they know what they're doing. So I get my drink and take it over to stir it a little and put the lid on and I take a sip.

OW MOTHER*%$#ER OMG OWWW. Seriously it was the hottest hot chocolate I've ever had in my life. I try not to burst into tears in front of anyone even though my mouth is dying and I swallow the stuff as fast as I can. I put the lid on and go to class, wait for it to cool, finish my drink, whatever. I figure I burned my tongue but whatever it happens no big.

BUT OH NO. I go back to my room after class to have a snack and figure crackers are good, right? Eating has never been so painful. So I ate gingerly lol and stuck with softish foods for the rest of the day.

But yet it doesn't end. I just went to the bathroom to brush my teeth before bed and as I'm spitting out the toothpaste what do I see in the sink but BLOOD. Apparently I scalded the inside of my mouth so badly (and not just the tongue, on examination, but also the roof of my mouth which has so much scar tissue on it from a spoon-related childhood injury I thought it was indestructible) that my mouth has been oozing blood all day. Super duper.

None of this would actually bother me, except that my parents are taking me out to eat to a nice restaurant tomorrow night and I'm afraid I won't be able to enjoy my meal. :( I certainly won't be able to taste it very well. Hopefully it won't actually be like, painful to eat though. D:

Yeah, just needed to vent.
