What would happen if the electoral college was completely tied when voting for president?

(Stolen from Lormarev.)

A summary for those of you not interested in watching the vid:

- If the electoral college is in a complete tie (which is possible, because it's an even number :P), it goes to the House of Representatives.

- Once in the House of Representatives, each state casts one vote for President. So all the Representatives from a state have to fight it out to have one answer for each state.

- If the House of Representatives are also completely tied and can't choose someone by January 20th, when Bush gets the boot, the Senate takes over.

- The Senate votes on a new Vice President, who will act as President until the House figures its junk out. Theoretically, this Vice President could act as President until the end of the term. Not likely (shoot, none of this is likely) but possible.

- You know no one in the Senate is going to vote for Palin for Vice President. So Biden could *possibly* be playing President at some point.

And I don't think I would be too upset with that. -shrug-

Election drama, lol.
