Who Castiel, Anna Milton, Ford Prefect.
What: Castiel's arrival
Where: Hotel foyer
When: 10 am

God could have been there.
Something was drawing him to the house. It was the first lead he had had in weeks and, slim though it was, it was more than enough to lend him speed as he flew over the countryside, high above the ground. The beginnings of joy, a little hope, fluttered in his chest as he pressed himself on. Although he had never been there before he knew where he was to go. He was making excellent time, he had the winds favour. He was close, he could feel it. He tipped his wings forwards to glide closer to the ground and kept going.
That was when everything went black.

Castiel’s face was numb. It was a curious feeling, painless but unpleasant all the same. He opened one of his eyes, the other was stopped by something. He lifted his head and almost cried out. Pain shot along his shoulder and into his chest. He pilled his arm close to his body automatically. What had happened? Had Zachariah or another of his brothers caught up with him? Was in a high-level demon? Castiel turned his head carefully but he could see no one and no footprints in the snow that had numbed his face and held his eye closed.

“This way sir,” a female voice said from behind him. Castiel rose to his knees as he turned, his left shoulder lower than the right.
“Where am I?” Castiel asked. “Is this Purgatory?”
“No sir, it’s a hotel!” she said cheerfully. “Now, Castiel, it’s cold out here, come inside where it’s warm.”
Castiel ran his hands over his stinging skin. Cold
He rose stiffly to his feet, holding his arm close to his side. He found it hurt less if he kept it still.
"You know my name?"
"Of course, we have been expecting you."
"Did Zachariah send you?"
"No, you have a booking." Her tone was cheerful, unconcerned.
Castiel was sore and tired, his body so very heavy. He fell silent, suddenly finding speaking too taxing and somewhat pointless. He couldn't find the right question or she wasn't willing to give an answer so the expended energy was not worth the result.

He followed her towards the only structure he could see, what appeared to be a large residence. He was slow, walking stiffly from the cold. His damp clothing rubbed against his skin as he walked, the sensation captured by Jimmy’s nerves.
Castiel knew. He knew the moment he woke his grace was gone. Not only that but Jimmy too, at least, he couldn't communicate with his vessel anymore. The body he struggled to move across the icy ground was wholly human.
He had already been cut off from Heaven but this…surely his Father would not bring him back only to do this?
Purgatory
The word was almost comforting.
Castiel followed the woman through the door but he lost sight of her as soon as they were inside. He stood in the lobby, his hand over his arm, staring at the walls of purgatory, his body trembling.
