A Teen Walked Into A Bar....

May 12, 2011 02:05

Who: Dawn Summers and whoever wants to join her
Where: The Bar
When: Early Afternoon
What: Dawn hangs out in the bar while catching up on her reading.

Some might think it odd that a 14 year old would hang out at a bar in the middle of the day, not to sneak alcohol, but to have a bit of alone time with the book she was reading. The bar was the last place most of the adults in her life would think to look for her and even though there was no reason for anyone within the the hotel to conform to a normal schedule, social norms seemed to be ingrained deep enough that folks didn't usually start wandering in until closer to sunset.

And so Dawn sat, tucked away in a corner booth with the juke box playing Death Cab For Cutie, reading du Maurier's Rebecca, her drink with it's Red Vine straw easily accessible at arms length.
