Of everything he did at the hotel, the desert runs were the one thing Dukat looked forward to most, whether he had company or not. There was something pure and simple about exerting himself and pushing himself in the sere environment. He found the newest arrival interesting, at least via the network, someone whose approach to the world seemed similar to his, much more so than any of the humans he had met thus far. He arrived outside just a bit early as he always did, already stretched and limber, and ready to run.
