Anna was beginning to feel restless, something felt wrong and she couldn't place her finger on what it was. It had felt like years since she had spoken to her brother, she wasn't even sure if he was around or not, so the former angel was relieved when she recieved a response from Castiel.
She was happy to hear from Castiel and couldn't wait to see him, she herself had been a bit worried about him and Dean, sometimes she felt like the two were avoiding her, when the two were really the only ones she knew at hotel.
Anna made her way towards the bar and noticed Cas had found a small table close to the bar but, it also kept distance from everyone else. A small smile formed on her face as she made her way towards Castiel.
"Hello brother, it's been a while." She greeted her trench coach clothed brother as she sat down from across him.
The first thing he felt on seeing Anna was relief, the second was concern. His sister looked tired but, then, he imagined he looked much the same. "It's good to see you," he said sincerely. The tension that had existed between them seemed, at least here, to have dissipated. She had only been supportive but, then, they had lacked the chance for deep conversation.
He took another sip of his drink. "Have you been well Anna?" He couldn't imagine what she wanted to talk to him about. He was ashamed to admit he knew almost nothing about what she had been doing lately. "What did you need to see me about?"
It was a bit awkward for the red head to see her brother when she hadn't been in contact with him for a long time, Dean had never mentioned how he was. Anna gave Castiel a quick once over and noticed that he too lately seem tired and had what she would call a haunted look upon his face, as he had seem some unsettling things or maybe he was just worn out like herself.
"It has been a long time, Cas." The red head explained as she stayed in her seat. "I have not been myself lately, what about you?" Anna wasn't sure how she could explain everything, how she felt, how she somehow knew that she was becoming simply human, and starting to forget who and what she was.
"I have been myself," Castiel said, "As much as I can be in this state. I have moved in with Dean so we can work together more effectively." He didn't mention the dreams, no need to worry his sister.
However, if he was having them... "Have you been sleeping well?" Even though he all but knew the answer he wish to invite her to talk. He needed to take this chance.
"You have?" Anna repeated softly as she looked over at him. "And Dean..how is he?" She hadn't seen Dean in a while, not since their movie day together. Sometimes she felt like Dean and Castiel were avoiding her.
"My sleep pattern has definitely been different since.." Her voice trailed off she didn't want to worry her brother but, he needed to know the truth about what was going on.
"I have. He had been having trouble sleeping. He has also been involved in a recent fight. He is currently pretending he is not in pain. He has taken much work upon himself but he is, over all, as he always was."
Her next words bothered him. He leaned a little closer. "Anna, what is it? What has happened to you?" His hand reached across the table, stopped just short of hers.
"You have." The red head repeated as she nodded. She couldn't tell if Castiel was lying to her or not. Listening to Dean's status, Anna frowned a little as she heard he had been wounded and pretending to not be in pain. "Dean has always been known to over do it, I hope someone is taking care of him."
Than Castiel changed the subject, concerned about her. " Since our failed attempt of escaping this place, I have been starting to feel things, and I fear that humanity has taken over me again."
She watched as Castiel's hand reached across the table, stopping inches away from hers. "Oh Cas, I'm afraid." Anna whispered softly as she placed her hand on top of Castiel's.
"I am taking care of him," Castiel said. "Though he does not make it easy." And it wasn't Dean Castiel was worried about now. When Anna placed her hand over his he placed his other hand over hers. His voice was gentle. "Tell me... what have you been feeling? What is different to before? Bear in mind... you are effectively human while you are here. What is your truly concerned about Anna? What are you afraid of?"
He met her eyes, concern narrowing his. He squeezed her hand, let her know it was safe. She could say whatever she wished.
Some relief washed over Anna as Castiel explained he was taking care of Dean. A small smile appeared on her face as she nodded. "Glad someone is taking care of him," Anna replied as she watched Castiel's other hand go over hers. She felt her cheeks pinken a little as she blushed lightly. " Attachment..mostly..these feelings wash over me and they become so overwhelming."
The former angel explained as she looked directly in her brother's eyes. "And I think I'm afraid of becoming too attached and having all these feelings take over me." She felt Castiel squeeze her hand and her cheeks pinkened a little bit more. The red head didn't know what was wrong with her. She was becoming strongly attached to Dean and Castiel, she didn't know what to do.
Castiel knew all about forming attachments. They had cost him Heaven, in the end, and he been entirely an angel when he had done it. "Let me ask you something. Why are you concerned about these attachments. Do you think they will cost more than you are willing to pay? You have been human before, Anna. Have you forgotten how to deal with such things?"
Castiel squeezed her hand lightly. "When you were human before didn't you learn control over your emotions?" Castiel himself had, so far, found that the easiest aspect of his transformation for the most part, his temperament remaining even. "Can you not call on that control now?"
Anna had a feeling her brother knew exactly what she was talking about, he was attached to the Winchesters, especially Dean. Castiel didn't have to tell her he was attached to certain people, she could look into his eyes and just tell. After revealing what was bothering her, she finally heard Castiel speak up. " I have not forgotton.." She whispered her lips pursed together for a moment as she kept her eyes on her brother.
"I think they might but, I'm not so sure."
She ran her free hand through her red hair for a moment as she thought about her dilemma. "Cas, you know me when I become attached to someone or something, I end up getting into serious trouble or they end up in trouble because of me." The former angel replied as she felt Castiel squeeze her hand lightly again, she blushed a bit more. "Maybe I'm just taking myself for granted.." Anna replied as she kept her eyes on her brother.
"Anna... is there someone you are having feelings for? Is that why you are concerned?" It certainly didn't sound like a vague fear to Castiel. She was already worried about trouble, her tone was urgent. "What are you afraid of happening Anna?"
Anna was beginning to feel a little uncomfortable with the conversation going where it was going, the former angel shifted in her seat as she heard Castiel ask the question she dreaded he would be asking her.
"Yes and it's not just someone, it's more than one." The red head replied as she as kept her eyes on him. "I've become so attached to you and Dean, there have been feelings stirring inside me and you think I'd be able to control it.." Anna confessed as she glanced downwards.
"I'm afraid of losing you and Dean, and not being able to save you two if something happens to you both." She let out a deep breath she had held in for so long as she felt a little bit of relief wash over her.
Castiel thought for a moment. He was less that surprised he and Dean would be the ones she was most drawn to, considering the bonds they all arrived with. "Dean and you were once very close," he said carefully. "You have known me our whole existence. I expect that is why we are the focus of your feelings."
He removed his hand from hers, took a sip of water. "You are not responsible for saving us and there is a chance that, despite your best efforts, you may fail. It is as with any mission." Castiel wondered if he would have the same problem Anna was if he stayed much longer. He knew she had been here longer than him. What would he feel? Who would he feel it for? Would it lead to distress? He tilted his head.
"Anna, what do you wish to do with these feelings? Do you want them to go? Do you wish to... act on them?"
Anna had a feeling that Castiel would not be surprised when she revealed who her feelings and attachments were for. "We were once..," she replied as she took a sip of her water. "Yes, I suppose you alright."
The red head agreed as Castiel removed his hand froms her. "I know..it is the thought of losing you both..if something were to happen to you two.." Anna's voice trailed off as she bit down on the bottom of her lip.
Taking another sip of her water, she directly looked up at Castiel. " I have been such a emotion of mess since I've been here," she replied as she set the water down.
Than he asked what she was going to wish to do on these feelings. The former angel thought for a moment as she sat there. It took a few minutes to think of a answer but, than she finally replied. "I do not know..how you or Dean feel. If I acted upon them, I would be worried about distressing you both."
Castiel titled his head. "It is illogical to live under such a apprehension. If we are to be harmed it will happen, worry will not mitigate that. However, we are both proficient fighters. There is no need to be unduly concerned." He tightened his fingers over her hand. "Don't worry, Anna. We have no plans to leave or throw our lives away."
He met her eyes. "If you were to act on them... what might this entail?"
She was happy to hear from Castiel and couldn't wait to see him, she herself had been a bit worried about him and Dean, sometimes she felt like the two were avoiding her, when the two were really the only ones she knew at hotel.
