Get it? It's D&C 11:16! I AM SO CLEVER. (Sorry, Mormon joke.)
ANYWAY.
My D&C was this morning; we left at 8:15 to be there at 9. We got to go to the brand-spanking new
Riverton Hospital - seriously, it just opened a year ago this month. It's super nice - the waiting areas are all huge and have lots of natural lighting. We got checked in at a kiosk, like a movie theatre, and were called to registration with a pager, like at a restaurant. How cool is that? And my room totally had a HD flatscreen TV mounted on the wall. I am WAY excited to deliver a baby here eventually.
Anyway, so they gave me an IV, and then Orion and I watched What Not To Wear while we were waiting for me to go into surgery, lol. The nurses and doctors were all really cool, friendly and chatty and making jokes and stuff. It really helped me feel at ease. My surgery was at 10:30, and even though the procedure only took like half an hour, the anesthesia knocked me out for 2. (HUGE thanks to Tiffany Fletcher for taking care of my kids while we were at the hospital!)
I was a bit woozy waking up, but it cleared up fairly quickly and I was feeling pretty good. Not good enough to walk unassisted, but still! I'm still feeling pretty good - better than I expected. I can stay sitting up, walk around a bit, and eat real food. I'm not in any pain, and I'm not really bleeding still - I plan on calling the doc in the morning to see if that's OK. But I figure it's WAY better to be calling because I don't have enough pain or bleeding than because I have too much!!
I'm hoping I feel less tired and weak tomorrow so I can take care of the kiddos without help. That's my only concern, though. Emotionally, I'm feeling all right, and I'm ready to move on with life.
