Today's podcast: Danah Boyd Online Reflectons of Our Offline Lives Interesting take on teens and social media - that teens really would love to socialize more with their friends in 'real life' but are prevented by today's fear of letting kids out to play unsupervised, so online socializing is the alternative, and even if teens grow up utilizing the online world and are very skilled they still need guidance (no, there's not a person at Google putting the most reliable results at the top, oh dear...)
Feeling better today, finally! Sinus pressure/headache is gone, plus energy, yay! And I trained two new volunteers on fish tank cleaning today and...I think they're coming back, w00t! Traditionally I train someone and they realize what's involved (it's a dirty and inconvenient job, with occasional turtles that try to bite your fingers) and I never see them again, lol, but these two, older husband-wife pair, were bound and determined and made a great team, it was pretty cute.
