9 - That's how our little game is played/Living out a masquerade

[Since Muraki posted lat, he finished his prison sentence, tried to cope with losing his powers, and then ended up in a sleep coma for nearly a month. But he's awake now, reading through a thin book with its cover not visible as his Dreamberry comes on.]

Nearly a month passed by in what felt like a short nap. I suppose there could be worse ways to lose that much time, but it's still strange to realize that sleep comas can last this long. I hope I didn't miss anything too interesting.

[He turns a page in the book and thinks quietly for another moment.]

This is very similar to a book I enjoyed at home. When written, I don't think the author could have seen that his work would enter English to describe a person with two vastly different natures and takes on morality. It was popular even from the beginning, but becoming an expression takes a certain amount of luck and talent. I wonder if there's anything similar for those not from Earth, or any other works stating that everyone can be capable of both great good and great evil with the right push in that direction.
