The supplies of water and food went in the first two days, and like you I can understand. The zero tolerance policy is in reaction to the theft of guns, electronics, clothing, vehicles and fuel all in a "I'm getting back at The Man for not rescuing us sooner/keeping us down for years". I only wish I was making this up, but reports from newpapers and people who are still there and have access to the outside world (interdictor) are showing the massive spread of lawlessness going on in New Orleans.

Like I said to emmapants, I wrote this post before I found out how bad the situation had gotten and it was my first angry reaction... And I guess kind of a gut reaction which was unfair to have.

I don't know...I saw a picture of a man with a tub full of beer and another woman with a wheelbarrow going through a store looking for clothes just like she was shopping. Some people definitely seem to be taking advantage of the situation.

Yeah... I wrote that this morning when I hadn't found out how bad the situation was progressing... It seems to have really gotten out of control.

I guess my first reaction was a little severe, and I didn't understand everything that was happening...
