My discombobulated thoughts after tonight's episode behind the cut. Why discombobulated? Naked Marc Antony.
I'm totally into this now. So Caesar had epilepsy? I didn't know that. I wonder if that's actual fact or just rumour that the show has decided to go with.
I liked the juxtaposition of Atia's welcome home party for Caesar with all of the nobles with Lucius' feast to bless his new business. I have a feeling it's not going to go well, and not just because of the broken bust of whatever God it is to whom he was praying.
Hee! Titus Pullo, discreet is not thy name. But I liked the way he realized he was in over his head once Veronus pointed it out to him, and it seems as though it will all work out for the best.
So, interesting - Cicero, Brutus and some of the others seem to want to grab at Caesar's olive branch, but Pompey and Cato want none of it. I know at least Brutus at some point comes back into the fold (all the better to betray Caesar), but I'm not sure where the rest of the Senate is going to land.
Did I mention naked Marc Antony? Guh. James Purefoy is ridiculously hot in this role. Seriously, ridiculously hot. And how funny that he named his dwarf servant Cato.
Continue to adore Atia, although it was not the best night for her. Spurned by both Servilia and Calpurnia. Oh well, not exactly going to feel badly for someone who has naked Marc Antony in her bed.
For the first time in years, I didn't watch the Emmys, but I just checked out the list of winners. And while I don't think that James Spader is a no-talent hack or anything, but really? Spader over McShane? Over Laurie? There must be bodies buried somewhere, because otherwise I don't get it. And I'm a bit distraught that the voters decided to reward Brad Garrett AGAIN instead of Peter Boyle. He's the only "Raymond" cast member to never receive an Emmy, and if they were going to go with a sentimental good-bye the way they did for "Frasier", then Boyle should have won. And I have to imagine Patricia Arquette is another "WTF" winner, because I can't recall anyone predicting her to win.
