Sort Me!

  • What sort of profession in the wizarding world would you choose and why? I definitely think I would qualify most as a teacher at Hogwarts.Since I would have gone to Hogwarts, I would already be familiar with it, and would be able to find my way around the enormous school. More specifically, I would like to teach either Charms or Defense Against the Dark Arts. Charms, because I like the day-to-day, simple spells that are easy to cast, and DAtDA, because it would be fun teaching it and seeing my students practice against each other.

  • You have to venture deep into the Forbidden Forest one night. Pick one Harry Potter character other than Hagrid and one object (muggle or magical), besides your wand, that you'd want with you. I would take Luna Lovegood. For one, she is gentle with creatures, and has that tantalizying, almost hypnotising aura that may put offensive creatures into some sort of trance. Second, because she knows a lot about creatures, especially rare ones we may encounter that another student may have never even heard of. The object I would bring with me would be the invisibility cloak. It would protect Luna and myself, and let us have the head start if in an attack.

  • If you had the opportunity to live forever, but your family and friends did not, what would you choose? And if you did choose to live forever, what would you do with eternity? No, I wouldn't take the opportunity to live forever, if the people I loved wouldn't be right alongside me. It would be far more painful than gratifying to watch your loved ones die right in front of your eyes. And then, if I were to make new friends, I would have to go through the same painful process, which would eventually become unbearable and not worth living another minute for.

  • If you could travel back in time to one point, when and where would you go? Why? I think I would want to visit Salem, Massachusetts around the time of the witch hunts. The whole time has always fascinated me, and you can't really know fact from fiction unless you experience it first-hand. While there, I would want to explore the town and hear from not just the accused and the accusors, but the witnesses, and maybe people not from Salem, but from areas near there, and see their perspective on the whole ordeal. Also, I would like to watch a witch trial, and see if the supposed lies that were told still held up as believable these days.

  • What HP character do you identify with most and why? I think I identify the most with Hermione Granger, even though I am a male. Aside from the obvious bookish connections, we are both loyal, trustworthy, honest people who stick by their friends through and through. We also both tend to hold grudges, and not give up very easily. We can both overwork ourselves, and strive for perfection, even if it's impossible to achieve.

  • What would you see if you looked into the Mirror of Erised? If I looked into the Mirror of Erised, I would see myself happy. Hopefully living in New York City with a wife and children, and with a degree in either journalism or a famous director. We would live in a private apartment, spending each and every day loving each other with all of our hearts, and making enough money to satisfy our needs, and be able to share with out children the wonder of magic. Okay, that was a totally cheesey answer, but I'm really tired. :P

  • Do you believe that moral actions should be judged by the intentions behind them, or by the consequences they create? Very hard question... hmm. I guess the latter. I mean, would it be worse for a person to do something bad for a very, very good reason (in  their opinion) rather than to do it just because they can? While both can be considered evil, or injust, the latter holds a more disturbing and disgusting viewpoint.

  • What was your ideal job as a kid? Has that changed? What is your ideal job now? My ideal job as a kid was a veterinarion. I loved animals and belived I could cure every single one that was brought to me. But then I started to think about the consequences, such as putting loved pets down, and giving surgeries that may not turn out well. Yes, my ideal job has changed since I was a child. There are three ideal jobs for me now: A journalist, because I love interviewing people and getting the hard, cold facts. Being able to release a public story and surprise people really does it for me. Second would be a director/screenwriter/actor. Yes, all three. :P I'm not being selfish, I just like to do as much as I can. I love writing, and have done a few professional acting gigs, which I've had a lot of fun with, and directing... well, no matter how egotistical this sounds, I love telling people what to do. =P

  • If you were able to invent one spell, potion, or charm, what would it do, what would you use it for or how would you use it, and what would you call it? If I were able to invent one of the above, I would create a "Get Happy" potion. No, not named after the infamous Judy Garland song, just a phrase that would go with it. :P It would, obviously, make people happy/joyous/infatuated/high for about five hours at a time. If taken more than once a week, consequences will be suffered. To be able to use it, you must, after finishing the potion, dip your wand (assuming you are the creator of the potion) into the mix, and then, and only then, will it be completed and ready to drink. =D

  • If you were to face a boggart, what would it turn into? And what does it turn into when you throw the counter-spell, Riddikulus? If I were to face a boggart, it would turn itself into me, sitting alone in an empty house, all by myself. My greatest fear is to be unloved, and have no one supporting me. When I cast Riddikulus, the scene would be overcome with heart shaped bubbles. rofl.

  • What do you look for in a friend? In a true frind, I look for people who can be loyal, honest, and exciting. I don't want a so called friend betraying my trust, lying to me, or making me bored. Just as long as we have a few similar interests, and would be able to entertain each other, you've got a friend in me (= (No, I did not recentley watch Toy Story. =X)

  • What trait most annoys you about other people? Lying. When people lie to me, and I find out, I become furious. I don't know why, even if it's a simple white lie, I get mad. I don't usually directly approach them about it. Like I said previously, I,more often than not, hold a grudge against the liar, and wait for him/her to approach me about why I've been acting angry, and then explain myself. I know that is not one of the better ways to solve a problem, but I don't think a liar deserves to be treated with attention.

  • What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities? My top five abilities and/or qualities are: Honesty - I usually tell it like it is. I don't try to be mean to people, I just don't sugar coat important things. If it's something like, "Do my clothes look nice?" I'll most likely say yes, but I'm usually upfront about things like that. Loyalty - I always try to be truthful to be friends, and keep their secrets, because I expect the same from them. That said, I believe I am a trust-worthy person, and can be told important details to. Kindness -   I think I am a kind and friendley person. I can be a little shy when you first meet me, but I eventually warm up to you if you try to get to know me. Intelligence -  No, I am not trying to act like a snob, but I do think I am one of the more intelligent people in my age group. I like to problem solve, and find different ways to look at and examine things before doing them, or when I'm answering a question. Creativity  I think I have some unique ideas and different perspectives on different things and ways of life. I am able to tell an entertaining story, which is why I love to write.
  •
  • What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities? I am very impatient. When I am eagerly awaiting something, whether it be an event or an item coming out/being mailed to me, I cannot sit still until I have received/achieved it. Second, is I have a very short temper. If I'm mad, I tend to take it out on the people nearest to me, as long as I know them. Thirdly, I sometimes over analyze things instead of just doing them. This isn't always a bad thing, but when it is, its bad. For example, if I'm about to go on a roller coaster, I freak myself out when there is absolutely no need to. Fourth is, I get obsessed with things too easily. Like, right now the obsession is television shows. I am watching, and am addicted to, WAY too many. I try to cut down, but I love them way too much!:P Finally is, I tend to judge people before I actually know them. I know it's not right, nor would I like to be judged like that, but sometimes I can't help it. If I see someone conversing with another person, and I disagree with what they're saying, I tend to avoid them, and things like that.

  • Define in your own words the following key traits:

    • Courage: Courage is the ability to defend your values, beliefs, and rights. Courage is also being able to stand up for your friends, family, and yourself, if you or they are being put down
    • Loyalty: Loyalty is staying true to yourself and to others. Making fun of a friend is not being loyal to them, nor is overly criticizing yourself.

    • Intelligence: Intelligence is not always being the smartest. It's also about being able to tell what's right from what's wrong. It sounds simple, I know, but that isn't always the case.

    • Ambition: Being ambitious is striving for what you think is your pesonal best. It's not about being on top, but about achieving all that you can.
