If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
I would have to say a tolerance of cultural differences. I live in Southern California and am constantly immersed in different cultures and people take that for granted. I’ve seen protests against immigrants and against those that don’t speak English. I’ve seen racial epithets just thrown about and I’ve seen people getting beaten up because they’re different in some way. I think that if people took the time to educate themselves about different languages, cultures and religion they would become more tolerant of the people that have that language or celebrate their culture and religion.

What makes a person respectable?
I think that everyone has a different definition of respect from everyone else. For myself that would be someone who is willing to look at differences in each person and someone who has a small amount of tact and doesn’t blurt every word they think of out. I think that if people became more tolerant of those around them they’d respect their opinions or beliefs more. Someone who considers a situation before opening their mouth and saying something that they’ll end up regretting is respectable. It takes a lot of self-control to not just say everything that you want to say and it helps you more in life if you don’t just say everything that comes into your mind.

What do you look for in a friend?
I look for someone that has the same interests as I do. After trying to be friends with the people that just come into my life I’ve just seen those relationships dissipate. I more then likely won’t be friend’s with someone who doesn’t share the same political beliefs that I do. Although I am tolerant of other peoples beliefs political debates can sometimes get heated and I don’t want to spend my time being heated at something my friend said. I also look for people that enjoy reading; because I am constantly reading and I would like to be able to discuss books with friends. I also like someone with the same sense of humor that I have, which can sometimes be sarcastic and I quote silly movies a lot. I like to look for friends that have seen Monty Python, The Marx Brothers, etcetera, because it shows a mutual sense of humor. I try to look for someone who will let me call them anytime of the night if I just need to talk, and someone who will respect my opinion even if they don’t always agree with it

What are your hobbies?
I love to read, I have so many books that I don’t have enough bookshelves for them. I also love to crochet, I’m not too good at it yet, but practice makes perfect. I love to write also, I haven’t had much time to write lately, but I do try to dedicate a fair amount of time to my paper journal once or twice a week so that I can clear my head. I also do a small amount of yoga when I find the time for it. I’m practicing some balancing exercises right now and that takes so much concentration that I don’t have enough time to think about anything else.

Have or would you give time and money to a charity?
I would give time and money to a charity if I ever came across either one of those. I do know which charity I would like to contribute money to when I do get some. I hope to contribute to the Rett Syndrome Association because they’re hoping to find a cure for the disorder that my little sister was diagnosed with back in 1987. It was founded by parents of girls with Rett Syndrome and I believe that they’re doing a great effort at finding a cure.

What is the one thing you would most like to accomplish?
I would like to complete my BS in Chemistry in the next few years. I took a short hiatus from school and although I’m not at a traditional university right now I’m a lot closer to going back to school then I was before. Barring any extreme change in my income within the next few years I’m sure that I will have no problem accomplishing this.

Who is your role model?
My role model would have to be my little sister. She has an extreme form of autism and sometimes has trouble communicating with people and can’t do everything that everyone else does, but she doesn’t let that slow her down in any way. She’s always smiling and being friendly to everyone. She tries to strike up a conversation with people that are sitting near her and likes to just sit next to people and smile. Even though she knows she’s different it doesn’t seem to get in the way with how she communicates with people. She has taught me a lot in life, just with how to deal with others that are different and that even though we’re all different we’re all connected on some level.

What trait most annoys you about other people?
I think that people who constantly talk about themselves are annoying. Everything has to be focused on themselves and what they can do and how important they are. Trying to get a word in edgewise is difficult, unless it’s about them that is. I think that goes along with tact though, the most important person in their mind is themselves and they will let anyone and everyone know that. Everyone is self-involved at times, but there are those that can only think about themselves with every little thing.

What do you want to do for a living?
Currently I’m trying to find a job as a pharmacy clerk while I’m trying to complete my certification as a pharmacy technician. I hope to finish my BS in Chemistry and then apply to pharmacy school to get my PharmD. I do want to be a pharmacist and I’ve thought about it for a while now. After switching my major at college multiple times I always had becoming a pharmacist in the back of my mind. I did want to go into medical school for a while, but that was never a huge dream of mine. It isn’t about the money for me, for me it’s about helping people who are suffering and maybe helping them feel better. Even if it is through the help of the big, bad drug corporations.

If your friend was attacked (by a person, animal, or (in the magic world) beast), what would you do?
I would probably end up calling help. I am not always the most calm person in the situation and I would try to do my best to remain calm and help them in anyway possible. But, remembering how I’ve reacted in past situations I am probably not the best person to actually help. I would try my best to fight off whatever it was that was attacking my friend of course, but internally I would be freaking out and that might come out in my fighting back.

Would you ever use an Unforgivable Curse for any reason?
I’m always afraid of getting caught for small things that I let them control my thoughts until the situation never arises. I could probably never use an Unforgivable Curse because of this, I’m constantly thinking if doing or saying something could get me into trouble and I wouldn’t really have to worry about not getting into trouble by using the Unforgivable Curse. Of course, if I use it at least I won’t have to second guess myself on if I’ll get into trouble by doing it or not. I put “probably never”, because if it came down to it and I had to defend someone that I love I probably would use the Unforgivable Curse.

What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?
Patience-I try to be as patient as possible, which was definitely a learned trait for me. I used to not be as patient as I am at this point and I do think it had more to do with myself growing up then anything else. Even if someone is completely annoying me I just take a few deep breaths and explain myself some more.
Helpful-I’m always trying to help others around me, even if all I can do is offer them a shoulder to cry on. Sometimes that doesn’t help though, because some people do take helpful people to their advantage.
Environmentally conscious-I’m always trying to conserve something or writing to a Congress person about something that involves energy conservation. I go out of my way to recycle, reduce and reuse in hopes that others will follow suit and maybe help out the environment in some way.
Cooking-I love to cook, even though I’m trying to go on a raw diet that still involves putting things together to make an actual meal. Cooking has always meant people coming together in my life and I like to cheer people up with a good meal.
Yoga-Even though I’m a beginner in yoga, I believe that it’s a good ability. It has helped me become more aware of the environment around me and has helped my patience.

What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities?
Hypochondriac-I constantly think that something is wrong with me. Even when I know that nothing is I just think that I can’t be fully healthy.
Sarcastic-I can be extremely sarcastic at times, which a lot of people can’t catch and think that I’m being serious when I’m talking to them.
Depressed-Some days I just don’t want to get out of bed and just wallow in self-pity for a while. Although in my mind I have good reasons for it, that might not be the truth in other peoples minds.
Goals-It takes a lot for me to finally meet goals. I’m always second-guessing my reason for setting certain goals that sometimes I never meet goals I want to accomplish.
Advice taking-When people give me advice sometimes I just give reasons as to why I can’t take their advice. Generally it’s because I don’t want to admit that maybe what they’re suggesting might help, sometimes it’s because I don’t always want help but I want to just talk about something that’s going on.
Define in your own words the following key traits:
Courage: Courage is being able to stand up for yourself and what you believe in and not let anyone put you down.
Loyalty: Loyalty is being true to those that you love and defending them no matter what.
Intelligence: Intelligence doesn’t necessarily mean book smarts, but it does mean the ability to gain knowledge and actually use that in application.
Ambition: Ambition is the ability to make a goal and actually complete that goal.
