Warm spicy things: more pie, mediocre curry, and licorice tea to a good home

Pumpkin Pie #2 : more corn starch, but not a lot, as I didn't want a grainy texture. Also added a bit of powdered cocoa.

Results: slightly more solid, but not grainy. Cocoa cuts the sweetness quite nicely. It is more of an unusual flavor underneath the sweet/spicy pumpkin instead of OMG COCOA. Will hopefully remember this variation.

Last night's curry was a total disappointment. An experiment in what happens when you don't really use any peppers until you realize too late that you totally forgot the peppers. I believe that curry is supposed to be fantastic, not mediocre.

Have been trying to work my way through a Traditional Medicinals 'Breathe Easy' box of tea, and it is full of licorice. I can force myself to drink all sorts of foulness, but this may just be beyond me. If anybody is interested in this stuff let me know.

joy of cooking, tea
