Organic So Delicious Dairy Free Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert - Strawberry Flavor

This is the best pseudo ice cream I've discovered yet for the lactose intolerant / dairy allergy / cholesterol avoiding / vegan crowds. Not that I normally eat this sort of thing (it was free), nor am I perhaps the best arbiter of taste either (not too long ago, I was convinced there was a strong relationship between chickpeas and turkey), but when it was fresh out of the freezer - at it's coldest - it was pretty darn close to what I remembered. All fake creams taste better when they are supercold, it masks the beany flavor underneath. Having said that, the flavor, the texture, and the appearance were surprisingly excellent imitations of the real thing. This company has also been experimenting with coconut in their products, which I might get around to testing a bit. I've already tried one of their coconut-based yogurts. It was... interesting. Wicked expensive too, all this stuff is, though I understand that milk isn't all that cheap these days either. Anyway thought I'd mention this, in case you are host to someone lactose intolerant / dairy allergy / cholesterol avoiding / vegan and you're wondering what the heck to feed them (and fruit strikes you as boring).

Bonus: Fiber! Haha! Not that anyone with a healthy plant-based diet needs any, but it may help ease the price tag a bit. Also this stuff is organic, which may explain some of the improved flavor. It has half the fat of a comparable Mayfield Ice Cream product, and no saturated fat.

Not Bonus: High price, no collard flavor yet.

Ingredients: Organic soymilk (filtered water, organic soybeans), organic brown rice syrup and/or organic tapioca syrup, organic dehydrated cane juice, organic strawberries, organic soybean oil and/or organic safflower oil, chicory root extract, natural flavors, vanilla extract, carob bean bum, non-gmo potato sugar, guar gum, carrageenan, beet juice.
