I've been sickish all weekend. Our window AC units have been running to the extent of their ability, but it hasn't been enough with this record-breaking weather. I get sluggish and ill when I can't cool down. My sleep has been thrown off as well, I just woke up but haven't been sleeping long. Weirdly, a day or two ago I was having serious issues with my skin itching so after lots of attempts of lotions and such I finally just took a bunch of diphenhydramine to finally sleep and save my skin from my own ravaging. It seemed to knock out whatever the hell was wrong with my nerve endings.
Was up all last night, into the morning. V and I made two emergency water trips up to the community garden. The air quality has been so terrible that I haven't stepped foot outside in days, but it wasn't bad at 6 AM. The garden was suffering. The weather maps keep telling us we'll get rain - even 90% - and then the clouds on the radar break up right before they get here.
Used a machete for maybe 10 minutes. Can barely type. When someone warns you to take it easy when first using a machete, believe them. My ability to grip things is pretty much shot at this point.
In September and December, the Urban Forest will have a herd of ~80 sheep ~20 goats and 2 giant fierce herd/guard dogs. At least, that's how things are planned. We'll see how well they eat up the many many invasive plants that are remaining. Also, we have some neighborhood dog drama, so that will at the least provide some entertainment.
