So we're having a party Saturday.

As Ray has said, it's our way of saying thank you to Cameron's mom and step-dad for inviting us to his graduation party.

We haven't done this in years, but I'm looking forward to it.  One reason for the hiatus is Tasha.  Our older dog, she was a pound pup for a few months, a stray before that, and before that, well, certainly abused.  She has a BB floating in her gut from her early days before we got her.  She has issues up to her beautiful cinnamon eyeballs.  She will bark incessantly at company, and try to nip them if she can.  After all these years, it occurred to me that we could sedate her during the party, as we do before she has a physical, so that's what we're going to do.  Ray was worried that it would be inhumane, but the doctors agreed with me that it would be less so than letting her bark and whine and work herself into a lather for four hours.

Meanwhile, I have ten pounds of pork shoulder blade slow-cooking on the stove.  I had to split it between two pots, it was so big.  There are two Murray's chickens in the freezer; I'll start thawing them tomorrow and begin marinating them Friday.  I've got a list of everything I'm going to have to get over the next two days.   The table and chairs are ordered, and I'll pick them up Friday.

I've already experimented with placing the planters out on the grass, with poor results.  Evidently, I can do that with stoneware pots with wide flat bottoms, but the pots in wire stands and the Mexican planters made totally out of wire won't stand well in the lawn - they topple in a light breeze.
