A few days ago, I discovered that a metal can of OFF! spray had rusted out at its bottom, and the contents had leaked all over the glass shelves of the 18" by 24" niche built into our bathroom wall for storing grooming products. The stuff then dried there. Taking the shelves out and soaking them in water did nothing. Cleaning products didn't budge the sludge, as it were. Picture something that's a cross between dried raw egg and a thin coat of rubber cement. Eventually, the only way I got it off was to scrub it off. Elbow grease, my mom would call it.
While talking with Emily today, it finally came to me how bizarre this is. Because when I use the product normally, I spray it on my skin! No wonder it works. When Momma Mosquito tries to bite me, she gets a mouthful of something pretty close to shellac! I'm not sure I'm going to feel so good about using it again.
