I've given the beta of Windows 7 Ultimate a test drive on my MacBook Pro. Verdict: it blows. It's a slight improvement over Vista, but that's it.

The funny thing is that Windows 7 is Vista. I can't find any differences except for one. Apparently Microsoft has conceded the fact that the OS X dock is vastly superior to the Windows 95/98/2000/ME ( Read more... )

I was trying to find the origin of the "A dingo ate my baby" quote a couple of weeks ago and just remembered to Google it today. Apparently it isn't from a movie as I had suspected. I had the opportunity to try out the new Office 2008 for Mac. It is horribly slow and bloated. I was excited about finally getting a Universal Binary version of Office, but it is actually noticeably slower than Office 2004, which is a PPC Binary and has to run via Rosetta emulation. I think I'm going to stick with Apple's iWork.
