So... car isn't great, but this is the first major thing ever wrong with it. The clutch is gone, and a number of other problems have popped up too. Friends have had some horror on-going car stories, so have kind of been expecting it to happen to me sometime. Additionally, although a bit of a chunk of money, my tentative budget (to which I don't pay much attention) includes a random annual amount for general car expenses that isn't too much less than what's been quoted (and haven't spent it all in previous years so am probably ahead all up). But I'm a little worried that now one major thing's gone wrong, others will be uncovered as the car has it's first major operation in 10 years...
(or that this is just the beginning of a quick decline and thus maybe I shouldn't be putting money into it but just replace it? or go car-free?)
(happily, the mechanic is a friend so I don't have to worry about being a total non-revhead patsy...)
