ozzer ppl, I has new phone. Old phone and particularly the phone charger were rather dodgy, and I was spending valuable minutes fiddling and refiddling every time I needed to recharge. A new charger also cost like $40 (and that phone was only worth $75 retail several years ago). So I finally got a new handset. Is reasonably fanshy, and doubles as mp3 player, has camera, etc. But was still relatively cheap. Also got a new number, but will prob go back to the old one once the free credit runs out on this one.
House
New house. Did I mention we moved around the corner? New house stays much cooler, which has been nice in the 35+ degree weather.
We were without electricity for more than a week! Finally connected on Friday (which was good since candles and 35+ degree weather not so good). Origin were very unhelpful and told us a different story every other day about why it hadn't been connected.
Unfortunately there's a little less space in the new place (one less room - no study), but this (plus gentle urging/mocking by Q) has finally impelled me to rationalize some of my (more) ridiculous hoardings. Clothes to the Red Cross, much-cited papers in the recycling, random mementos (mainly party invites and rave fliers and concert tickets) gradually being digitized so I can recycle them too... I found my undergrad degrees, some paperbacks I thought I'd left in Perth, records of bank accounts I don't recall having, etc.
