I am often at groups with coughing, snotty children, and have more than once ended up on antibiotics because of an infection given to me by a toddler. I have a friend who brings her daughter to visit us specifically to cheer her up when she's ill.
It drives me nuts.
I keep my children home when I think they're infectious, and I'm even more cautious if we're likely to meet babies or pregnant people or people with pre-existing illnesses. It limits me a good deal. Am I mad? Should I just be taking them wherever I want to go and letting everyone else take their chances?
(I've missed TWO parties today because of ill children. I'm bitter.)
