This evening I was asked to answer some survey questions for a research project into
pedagogical patterns, I think they got my name from the talk that I gave at the
ACEC2004 conference in Adelaide. It is an interesting idea borrowed from the
design patterns used in the software industry, suggesting that educators can make a pattern or capture the essence of their practice in a form that is easily communicated and shared. This can provide a way to communicate proven solutions to common problems in teaching. I found a sample one that describes a
pattern for running a course. It's getting late but worth a further look in at a future date.
