Protest at Moomba
The City of Melbourne hosts an annual labour day celebration called Moomba. This year, the event coincided with the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games.
I noticed a protest vigil and signage displayed on this Yarra river walking bridge to the important unresolved issues, unfinished business and concerns held by the indigenous and original custodians of Melbourne.
Later I found by accident a very good parody website called Stolenwealth made by the same group of the Commonwealth Games official website. An ABC news report indicated that the reconciliation group organisers did not wish to disrupt the Games, rather the protest will highlight the living conditions of Aborigines.
