I'm just back from seeing Return to the Forbidden Planet. Squeeeeeeeeee! How come I have never seen this before?! Okay, there are musicals with better plots, more depth and music written specifically for them rather than ganked from anywhere and everywhere, but I can't remember the last time I enjoyed the theatre so much ( Read more... )

Well we went to serious theatre on Wednesday. I suppose if we'd done it the other way round you could have gone again, but some would have said that was excessive. Others (including me) might disagree in this case :-)

I have to agree that it was a brilliant show - CU ADC really know how to put on a show. Just a shame over the vocal mix.

Now if only "From a Jack to a King" would be done somewhere local, I'd be a happy man.

I long ago lost count of how many times we've seen this show. From its first performances at Seven Dials through touring in Southend to one amateur production over West London way, but it must have been something like 14 times! (Though I'm sure that's nothing next to Magician or (before your time) Bill Longley.) But would still go again given the chance!

/me remembers when we went with several inflatable guitars and an inflatable sax and got up one after another, line by line as they went into the playout, damn near corpsing them I think... Ah, happy days.

And how did you think Hey Mr Spaceman got into Phoenix's repertoire in the first place? :)
