 In six apartments. Six separate apartment buildings there should have been something. One of the managers had returned Axel’s call and they’d added the place to their list of tours today. Axel was amused at Bart heading toward the stairs to get to 5A a ground floor apartment but he nevertheless steered the other boy back the correct direction and managed to get them situated in the right direction

The man took them up to the sixth and final floor leading them to an apartment at the end of the hall. "7F, small." The man then pulled a huge ring of keys from his pocket, unlocked the door, and gestured them in

The landlord nodded. "If you want them, last tenant left them. I've been feeding them."

Axel nodded moving aside to discuss the paperwork and technical parts of the place while Bart communed with the fish.

Two hours of forms, a few handshakes and one scary rushed background check later Axel had a key in his hand and was offering Bart a copy a shy smile on his face. All he had to do was get his stuff from Owen's and they'd be set. Bart was already running his things from wherever it was he'd been before.
