Today wasn't a good one. We woke up early to attend a mandatory meeting at 7:30 at our office. Trenton was on a two-hour delay; so, we had to come along. We ended up being five minutes late, which was moderately scrutinized, but it turns out that no one was exactly on time to begin with.

My car is in the shop getting a steering column problem addressed and my gas gauge sensor replaced. I took it in Monday, but due to the snow storm, the parts guy did not end up coming two days in a row. Yesterday, I had to miss work all together. Today, TJ gave me his car to drive, and he caught a ride with a co-worker.

I took Trenton back home to get his things, dropped him off at the bus and left town with no problem. When I got to the stoplight on 33 in Weston, his car made a loud popping double-jerk, followed by a terrible burning smell. I pulled over and called TJ. I looked under the hood, and nothing was out of order. I took the car out of four-wheel drive, and continued. It was right before Jane Lew that I noticed a clanging vibrating sound coming from the car. I pulled over in Jane Lew, called TJ, we checked a couple more things, and I continued on my way. Right after I got back on 79, the clanging sound was back, only twice as loud and there was a banging, dragging noise. It was the single most terrible sound I'd heard coming from a vehicle. It was pretty much un-drivable.

I had to have it towed to Weston. The damage to his car is serious, and he is going to have to decide whether he wants to replace a major part or just get a new car. My dad had to rescue me, which I'm sure put a damper on his day. I am at the office for an undisclosed amount of time with my fingers crossed that maybe my car will be fixed today.

My cell phone was also malfunctioning all day long, system errors over and over again. It is now dead; so, I also don't have a working phone of my own on me since I have no car to charge it in.

Another bit of bad news -- my cousin announced on Facebook this morning that my uncle broke his back. It is not a life-threatening injury, but it is a painful one, especially for a 66-year-old disabled veteran. Good energy of any kind is welcome.

But a bit of good news is that I can already feel my meds start to work. I get all of the precursors for panic, without the climax. My subconscious is reacting in a way my consciousness refuses to full acknowledge. I feel...odd, which is the only way I can describe it. I feel better. I find myself relaxing differently now and noticing subtle changes to how I act in public, and it's only day 3. This maybe a very good thing for me once I settle into it.
