I survived Anime North, although I haven't had time to post about it. I've spent the last few weekends cleaning the house to prepare for the girls to come and stay on vacation. Not that the house was filthy or anything, but when I have guests I tend to take the opportunity to do a major clean out of things I might normally ignore (sorting out all the clothes I don't wear any more, matching all of my knee highs and throwing out the singles, scrubbing the bathroom walls, vacuuming the basement ceiling, sorting out my internet bookmarks, etc). House is now all clean and shiny, which makes me so much happier, and now I just have to wait for their arrival.
So now I search through hundreds of websites of Anime North pics to see what I've forgotten and if I can spot any pictures of Tangeriner and I. Costumes of note - someone came as Bowser from Super Mario, which must have been scorching hot inside, someone else (possible two people on different days) came as Hexadecimal from Reboot (I'm trying to convince Tangeriner to come with me as good Hex and bad Hex some year), and there were a small contingent of Steam Punk Ghostbusters. Someone brought a 1/3'd size 'motorcycle' for his Cloud to ride off on, and judging by the photos, a quarter of the con came as Hetallia characters and then got out of hand at the photoshoot. One of my favourite masquerade sketches involved an argument between Box-tron (transformers) and a grunt from Metal Gear Solid about the actual definition of Metal Gears. There weren't any truly amazing vids this year, unfortunately, or at least not any good enough to either make me think 'I need to find that source and watch it' or 'I need to find that video later and save it', but T. and I watched the live action version of Death Note to make up for the lacking "crack" quotient.
My guests are not here yet, and there's nothing left to clean.... and FFXI is down for maintenance, so I can't go beat up orcs!!! Must think of something else to do.
