Sparkles and Rainbows

[The unicorn mainly traveled by late night and early morning.  That way, it would minimize the chance of humans seeing her, for if they found her, they would surely try to capture her or take her hostage.  She had had some close calls with humans in the past, but fortunately, they didn't realize her true weakness, and she had gotten away every time.

The humans usually tried to tempt her with pure maidens, not realizing that that trick only worked on male unicorns.  In order for her to be so easily tamed, it would take the presence of a pure male, which, were fewer and more far between than fair maidens.  Add that to the fact that female unicorns seemed to be better at hiding than the males, which meant they were captured less in total.

It had been years since she had seen another unicorn, with the others being more cautious or straight out captured, she always walked alone.  She went from town to town, purifying the water and hiding in thickets and small wooded areas until the night and early morning came, often with the mist, and she would vanish, traveling the roads and forests, always staying out of sight.

It had been many years since she had last been to Japan, and her first stop was a medium-sized town.  She quietly walked along the paved roads, her hooves clacking against the ground as she made her way to the park.

The park was empty at this hour, it was well before sunrise.  She found the river and dipped her horn into it, purifying it of all unwelcome content.  It took quite some time to complete, and after she finished the task, she lifted her head and drank from the stream, the water fresher, crisper, and cleaner than it had been since her arrival.

Until sunrise, she remained close to the river, drinking from it and eating the grass and some of the leaves nearby.

After she was through, with a small sigh, she transformed herself into a human girl.

Over the years, she had learned it was safer to assume a human form, as long as she looked human, she wasn't questioned too very much.  Unicorns have their modesty, so the transformation always came with clothes that she could change form at will, but they would always be pure white like her fur.

As it had been ages since she had visited Japan, she was wearing a pure snow-white ancient-style kimono.  Her eyes remained the brown they always were, but her free-flowing hair was longer than her waist and a dark red.  When she was younger and living among the other unicorns, she had asked why their hair wasn't white like their fur when transformed, and she had never gotten a definite reply, only a mumbled something or the other about they supposed it was the color of your soul that determined the color of the transformed hair.  She wasn't sure if she believed it or if it was true, but it was a rather nice notion.  Though, she did wonder what it meant by her soul being dark red in color.

After changing herself into a human, she went back a little ways into the trees to sleep for the day.  She wasn't worried about her safety, the birds would warn her if any people came nearby, and the park seemed safe and quiet enough.

However, she was unaware that her presence would probably be noticed by those who could sense reiatsu.  Hers wasn't especially powerful, but it was different from a human's.  It was probably similar to Orihime's, as their powers were close in some ways.]
