It took a longer than I expected to get through the forest. I had to take several impromtu "showers" courtesy of Squirtle thanks to the stupid amount of times I got hit with string shot. I learned to look for the shift in the grass that comes before it and by the end I wasn't getting hit quite so many times ( Read more... )

Haha, another victim of the forest? You seem to have enjoyed it more than Hiyoshi did. ♥

"You seem to have enjoyed it more than Hiyoshi did."
That isn't very difficult.

No, not at all. You're going to be the basis by which all other enjoyment is judged from now on, I think. ♥

Well, I enjoyed Pewter the few hours I was there. (The museum!)

You know, I'd bet there's no trainers in the forest because who in the right mind would do through the forest if they didn't have to!? ...Caterpie.
Granted, when I passed through it, all I met were wild Pokemon, and no trainers until I stepped into Pewter city boundaries.

I thought there would be a handful lurking around.
The Caterpie aren't so bad. Maybe you should do resistance training... I bet my Caterpie would love to string shot you till you get over your fear.

Hn. All the young bug catchers were probably just scared off by my presence.
I've had several days of resistance training in that forest so thanks, but no thanks. Really, no thanks.

Scared off? By someone who doesn't like bugs?
Doesn't sound like your resistance training worked.

The gyms are open - you should be able to challenge Pewter while the festival is going on.

It sounds like you and Squirtle are getting along, na~

Great. I'll probably take a look around first and stock up on antidotes. I went through about 8 in the forest.

That we are. He seems to be doing really well.

Aren't water types the best? Free showers an' everything.

As long as you don't think too hard about where exactly the water is coming from.

Showers do feel good unless you have a particularly feisty, evolved Pokemon. Then it just hurts.

The lure of Atobe's festival throwing abilities is rather strong :) Will you get pulled in too?

I'll remember that for when he gets bigger.

I'll definitely be heading back to Viridian at some point for the festival. Just thought I'd take advantage of the fact that most people are heading towards Viridian to make some progress with my journey. After all, Atobe promised free transport back to the city. So I'll use it.

Free transport is certainly the best. Especially if it's coming out of Keigo's pocket.

And I intend to use it for all it's worth! See how far I can get before the draw of the festivities draw me back.
