Collection Update After a Year!

Aug 15, 2021 21:13

Hi everybody! I can't believe it's been a year since my last update ( which you can find here if you want to see)! Ideally, I would've taken pictures of things I got for each month in groups, but I didn't do that as things were coming in and I am too lazy to do it retroactively, so I hope it'll still be fun to read about highlights! :'D

First up, let's take a look at some plush that I obtained over the past year!

I hope this picture expresses how much I LOVE Hoenn! So many of the Pokemon in third generation have fun designs, and I had to take advantage of the opportunity to have them in plush form! Flygon, Sceptile, and Torkoal are Japanese versions that my friend Juna helped me get and the others are from the US Pokemon Center. I'm not a fan of the new huge generic USPC tags, so I cut them all off. It feels kinda freeing to do that!

I just realized that I already shared the Kecleon brothers in last update, but here they are again to help introduce the others! :'D I was motivated by PMD love to get the Shiny Celebi Pokemon Center plush, and I'm so glad I did! It's SO SOFT. Also pictured are the Anorith and Politoed Sitting Cuties plush, which I purchased when they were restocked. Originally I didn't buy Politoed because it's very similar to the Jakks plush I already have, but I couldn't resist that cute face any longer. When I saw pictures that showed off Anorith's floppy arms and great details, I decided I had to buy it too.

Here's a group picture of the Charizard line plush I added to my collection in the past year (and honorary Pikachu). I'm so glad that GameStop blessed me with the Mega Charizard X poncho Pikachu and Charizard PokeManiac Pikachu! The Sanei Charizard is super soft and has a nice smile! I felt lucky to buy it right before HLJ ran out of stock. It felt surreal to finally add a Tomy recall Charizard to my collection. I've been looking for one ever since I wasn't able to buy one from the old US Pokemon Center site. The search finally ended with this loved condition friend from YAJ! Also from YAJ, I finally bought a Pokemon Time Charizard plush! The magnets in its hands are fun to play with. Up in front, we have a Charmander MPC plush from Rynzle9! It feels great to add this small friend to my collection. Last, but not least, we have a Canvas Charmander I purchased from Mercari! I bought a Canvas Foongus at the same time that I realized I forgot to take a picture of uh oh D: I love them both very much! I miss the Canvas line.

This has been a pretty productive time for my Tyranitar and Larvitar collections! :D My friend Krys helped me get the I Choose You Tomy and Banpresto plush in the back, and they're incredible. The I Choose You Tomy plush is probably my favorite Tyranitar plush to date! Its proportions and details are spot-on, and the plastic eyes give it an especially fun look. The Banpresto plush is just as huggable as it looks! Juna helped me get the Seiko Soda Larvitar from the Japanese Pokemon Center and OH MY GOSH it's the best. I've always loved the colors and general round style of the Seiko Soda merch line, and I was so excited to see Larvitar in this newest addition. Speaking of excitement, I couldn't believe that I won the movie version of the Tomy Larvitar on YAJ! Pikachu's Pikaboo is one of my favorite pieces of Pokemon animation, so any merch I get from it feels super special. It's even better that this is the Larvitar! Finally, not part of the same evolution line but still green, we have the Flygon Sanei plush! It's just as soft as the Charizard, and I love how they look together. I can't wait to add the Sanei Tyranitar to the crew soon.

I know this post already has a lot of pictures (and text, sorry) but I had to post a glamor shot of these two! I just love them so much, and I need you to appreciate the detail on Tyranitar and the fact that Larvitar even has its tag!

Look at this fun assortment of friends! I got Eiscue for Christmas and it was so much bigger than I expected, but that makes it perfect for cuddles! I love how squishy its ice cube is. I got Sobble for Christmas as well and every time I look at it, I have to suppress a squeal. It's just TOO CUTE. Wooper and Quagsire are both from my friend irrisichi and I'm so happy to finally add them to my collection! They're so small and perfect. I bought Hoppip from zak as a little bit of an impulse purchase, but I'm so glad I did! I'm a huge fan of PCNY merch, so I'm really happy that this Hoppip came with its original tag that advertises it. Finally, we have the Entei Sitting Cutie plush from Frisk Wolfie! I regretted not buying it when I was in Tokyo right after the Johto Fits came out, and then I missed it on the USPC, so I was happy to buy it from a collector! Though of course shortly after, it got restocked on the USPC haha.

As a sort of segue into figure pictures, here we have the ADORABLE Dracozolt Pokedoll accompanied by a couple of the USPC resin figures! Dracozolt is a bit smaller than other Pokedolls, but all the same details I've come to expect are there in perfect proportion so I love it very much. The parade figure featuring Charmander is so awesome! I love that fire is coming out of Charmander's wind instrument, and that Froakie has a PokePuff stuck in his. Additionally, here is the Charmander Relaxing River figure! I love all the details on this figure. I hope Charmander can get the Razz Berry without getting wet!

Also from the USPC, here is the INCREDIBLE silver Charizard bookend holding up some of my TCG binders! I think the silver looks really awesome with my black bookshelf.

I don't collect Pikachu, but I'm a huge fan of the Pokemon anime, so I felt compelled to buy this Pikachu Kids set because it depicts some of the cutest Pikachu moments in 3D! Plus it has a Cramorant with Pikachu in its mouth and we needed a figure of that as soon as Sword and Shield came out. I also really love the Pikachu and Raichu figure because that short is one of my favorites!

Continuing with my love of Hoenn, I decided that I wanted to buy all of the easily obtainable Hoenn Scale World figures! I'd love the P-Bandai ones too, but I don't want to spend too much money on this line of figures. This is the first set, and they're all absolutely perfect! I love displaying them with the smallest evolution in the front and the largest in the back. I do have a Sceptile coming that my friend who lives in Japan helped me order, so that line will be complete too eventually!

I was super excited for this Swing Rement set to come out because it not only had Charizard, but it also had FLYGON! I rarely ever get to add anything to my Flygon collection, so this was a super special opportunity. I also really love the other Pokemon here, so it was easy to justify buying the whole set! Look at all the awesome detail here! Seeing them all floating in different ways is so fun and unique. Butterfree/Pikachu and Chandelure live in my friend's collection now, but I wanted to share a picture of all of them because they look lovely together!

FINALLY I get to add 3rd Anniversary goodies to my collection! These buttons have eluded me for so long, and I was able to find them within a short amount of time of each other. They were in the buyee warehouse for about a year before I finally shipped them via EMS recently, and it was magical to see them in person. I knew Pikachu was not in the right place in the packing when I bought it, no worries haha. I haven't tried to put it back where it goes yet. The Pokemon Center Tokyo pin came with the 3rd Anniversary button 4-pack and I'm really happy to add it to my collection too! I don't see them in their packages too often.

I finally bought a pin board! It's not completely full yet so I'll only show chunks, but I really love having all the Galar badges lining the top. I recently decided to add my old League badges too, and I'd love to complete the set if anybody is looking to sell the badges I'm missing! To the left of the Kanto badges are a few keychains I felt compelled to keep from a lot I won on YAJ. I have such a soft spot for both Cyndaquil and old Pikachu!

(Please ignore the blocks of tan. There aren't any Pokemon there :'D) There are quite a few exciting things in this picture! First, I am SO HAPPY to have added the Tyranitar and Larvitar doll can badges to my collection! They even have their original packaging, which makes them feel even more special. Underneath them, we have the Pikachu's Pikaboo charm set with the adorable "shh" Larvitar! On either side of that, there are double-sided keychains from the same line as the Cyndaquil above. I really love double-sided keychains, so even though I originally only wanted to keep Charizard, I ended up keeping all of the ones included in the lot. I also want to point out the Pokemon Center Tokyo Grand Opening pin! It came in the same keychain lot as the others I keep talking about, and I still can't believe that I own it. I really love merchandise that celebrates milestones in Pokemon history and the grand opening of the first Pokemon Center is definitely something to celebrate! Finally, we have an assortment of incredible Charizard line pins and a Charmander 151 badge! The 151 badge is from hebilea and the custom Charizard pin and Special Delivery Charizard pin are from a friend! Originally, the Special Delivery Charizard pin was lost in the mail on the way to my friend, so she bought the custom one instead as a replacement, but then the Special Delivery pin finally came and she sent it to me too! They're both so wonderful and I feel so happy looking at them! <3

Now, let's take a look at a couple of ChibiPokeHouses that I added to my collection! :D My dream is to have all of the DX ones some day.

First up, we have the DX playset for the "Pikachu and Pichu" short! I love how many moments and details they packed into this playset. We have the cake and party supplies for celebrating Ash and Pikachu's anniversary of meeting, Meowth working as a window cleaner, the playground made of trash, and even the balcony of the building!

Here's a close-up picture of the bottom of the playset. Hitmontop spins and Furret and Igglybuff go up and down with different levers. The bus has fully rotating wheels and Pikachu can easily surf on it!

Here's a close-up of the top, and you can see all the fun sky details behind the plastic buildings! I like having Hoppip chill on the balcony too. There's a hole in the clock tower roof because you can put a figure in there, then spin the Pidgey to make the figure go down the slide.

This didn't come with the ChibiPokeHouse, but I wanted to feature it here because I display it next to the playset! This is a pencilboard for the short that I purchased from Krys and I adore the artwork here! It's too bad Shuckle wasn't a figure with the ChibiPokeHouse because that would've been lovely.

Let's move on to the "Pikachu's Pikaboo" short!

AHHHH IT'S SO PERFECT! As I mentioned above, I really love "Pikachu's Pikaboo," mostly because it features a few of my favorite Pokemon. It's wonderful to see them represented in this playset too, and there are so many fun moments depicted here too!

My playset is missing a couple of pieces, including a stone structure that is supposed to be in the circular indent in the ground here, but that's okay! I love that the Pikachu figure is holding the stick that designates that he is supposed to find everybody in the hide-and-seek game, and Larvitar looks as displeased as ever.

Inside the mansion, you can see the Togepi pillow and you can let Cyndaquil get into the fireplace to create his hiding place in the short! He's outside of it right now so you can see him.

The right-hand side of the playset is missing a fountain where I put the tree with Hoothoot in it, but I think the tree fits the scene anyway. Here, you can see how there's a spot that is perfectly sized for Sandshrew to hide from Pikachu, and Azurill hides in the pot. You can also see the Kecleon figure and Donphan wheel figure in the background of this picture! If you pull the lever in front of Donphan, it rolls out like in the short.

The left side of the playset features the beach from the beginning of the short, including the playful Wailmer. I've also spliced in a picture of the chimney of the mansion that shows Meowth and Wobbuffet stuck in there, which made me laugh to see.

This is the last picture of this playset that I'll share right now - the hedge maze and lawnmower! The lawnmower is a wind-up toy, which I think is super fun. I was happily surprised to see the hedge maze mat included with this playset because it wasn't included in the pictures!

OKAY now that we've explored some specific gets, I wanted to close out with pictures of a shelf with many newer figures that I didn't feature on their own!

Just for fun, here's a picture of the shelf from April 25th of this year and then...

Here's a picture of the shelf today! :D It's come so far even just from April! I decided that using ETBs as risers for some things in the back would look cool, and I think I was right! I am so grateful to everybody who gifted, sold, and helped me find everything that lives on this shelf. These items have come from all over the place and it would take a long time to give proper credit!

A close-up of the top-left part of the shelf. I wanted to give special mention to the Shiny Charizard attack kid figure painted by my amazing friend cursedwarrior and the Charizard/Blaziken/Flygon mini binder I won on YAJ! <3 Sky did an absolutely incredible job painting Charizard and the blue flames are such a cool touch! The mini binder was a mini grail of mine for many years and I still can't believe that I own it now! The pages are in pretty bad condition, but that isn't as important to me as the incredible artwork (which is flawless).

A close-up of the top-right part of the shelf. I accidentally cut off the top of the Third Movie pencilboard, but I love it so much! I'd really love to add more Third Movie merchandise to my collection. One figure I want to draw attention to here is the Tyranitar V-Trainer figure! I've always loved these figures, but I never had a good opportunity to buy the Tyranitar. Irrisichi sent a link to a lot with it on etsy of all places, so I happily purchased it!

A close-up of the bottom-left part of the shelf. Pikachu came with the clear Charizard kid from Uniqlo, but Charizard is on another shelf so it's kinda strange that Pikachu is still there now that I'm thinking about it haha. ANYWAY, I want to draw attention to the INCREDIBLE Charizard needlefelt my friend made for me! Everything about it is absolutely perfect and I often catch myself staring at it. Look at all those details! Additionally, check out the Charizard in the cube next to it. I've only seen this item for sale a few times on YAJ, and I was lucky enough to win an auction for it this year! The figure inside has such a unique pose. Phanpy looks a little out of place here amongst all the orange and green, but I wanted a prominent place for it in my collection because it's such a fun item! It was a blind-packaged mini plush released to advertise the Camp Pikachu short (have you noticed that I love the Pikachu short films yet?)

Finally, here's the bottom-right part of the shelf. I'm SO HAPPY that I was able to buy a Flygon attack kid from irrisichi! It's a figure that seemed to always elude me. I really love the metallic effect on its wings! I also finally added a Flygon charabottlin to my collection after a bit of an impulse purchase from eBay. I was so tired of losing auctions that I overpaid a little for the condition it's in haha. Still, I love it very much! Finally, I want to point out the Kyogre constellation button (which you can barely see because of the angle, sorry). Pokemon Channel is an incredibly important game to me, so adding a piece of merchandise that advertised the game to my collection felt amazing!

AND THAT IS IT for my update! Thanks so much to anybody who made it this far down, and a special thank you to those who read my rambling! I always enjoy reading people's thoughts about the things they've added to their collections, so I let myself loose today.

Also, I wanted to let y'all know that I've been updating my collection site some more! Click here or the picture below to visit.

I've still got a ton of stuff to add that I've taken pictures of in the past year, but I've been making some progress. Please let me know if you'd like to be affiliates and I'd love to add your button to my site! :D

Thanks again for reading! <3
