This is something I get to rarely do...
So I got to do something today that I haven't done in years since the day Giant Entei arrived on my doorstep. Today I got to pick up... a GRAIL!!! :D AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I CANNOT STOP SMILING ABOUT IT!!
As some of you know I'm dropping a few collections including my Magikarp/Gyarados, Lucario, Eeveelutions, and Wailmer/Wailord at the moment. My eeveelution sales are what made this whole grail get possible. So anyone who rehomed my collection, I cannot thank you enough!!!
Before I get to the goods stuff, I want to share an awesome Entei get that I ended up winning inadvertantly. So if you collect the 3 beasts or Entei you know about Entei's Ichiban Kuji Part 8 plush released in the year 2000:
Here's mine. He's mint with no tag, and tush tag looks as such:
Inside his tush tag is the typical shopro sticker of authenticity. Now this plush is the second biggest Entei plush being towered over only by his PC Giant bretheren. Originally I had believed him to be incredibly rare with my purchase of one being the only one I had seen for years. Lately, a ton of this big boy have been popping up on facebook, eBay and y!japan. I never thought much of them as mine was 1. In better condition and 2. I already had one so why bother. I was happy I had found one so early on in my collecting when I still collected all 3 beasts thanks to shaggy_griffon. I will never forget meeting them at Wal*Mart to very excitedly pick up this amazing plush.
So fast forward to a few months ago after years of owning this plush. I saw this guy on Y!Japan for a very low price with an extra Korotto Manmaru Entei MWT:
Should I get it or should I not? I already have one but this one is mint with his tag. Based on the photo shown, you can clearly tell I went for it. I'll just buy it and sell my original one for what I had originally paid for it. So I'm not exactly excited about it in that I already own this plush, it's just for completionists and perfectionist sake, I want all my plush MWT within reasonable limits.
So he arrives, yay, but wait a minute...Let's do a side by side again:
What do you see? If you're thinking yea it's just plush differences, you're wrong ;P My new MWT Ichiban Kuji Banpresto Entei is a SECOND RELEASE!!!
He was released in 2001!!! He's got his little shopro sticker inside and everything! I believe it was released along side the Suicune Ichiban Kuji Part 9 in 2001. I ended up getting a completely different plush than the one I already owned! Unfortunately the KM Entei was the exact same and I already had one MWT but I couldn't give him up so now I just have 2 XD I flipped out a bit to the point where I even called my boyfriend who was at work in the middle of the day just to tell him. It was a really awesome get and I'm so happy to have been able to accidentally expand my Entei Collection!
So, while I'm on the topic of expanding my collection. I want to give a huge thanks to riolu because without her, I'd currently be grailess. So moving on to the grail get! :D
Story time!
So, I had been contemplating a lot about my collections because I'm getting older and I want to get engaged, married, move into our first home, and have a little one eventually. All of those things require space and money, more so the space as overtime and PPNP lately have been significantly boosting my paychecks to look REAL nice! ;P So I posted on Twitter (DoryPhish if you'd like to follow me) about how I wanted to start selling off my collections and halt collecting. Mind you, I have an addiction and am considered a level 1 hoarder with my collections, so baby steps. I can't do this cold turkey as my parents are hoarders (not like the ones on TV though!).
Anyway, the next morning, Riolu messages me on Twitter saying how it might be a bad time, but you should look at this auction. My literal respones was Holy afaggagwgegegsggggffffffff!!! It was an Entei item, and not just any Entei item it was rare and Holy Grail status! I flew out of bed and took a whole bunch of photos of eeveelutions and slapped that sales post up on pkmncollectors and every facebook site I belonged to. The sales was a roaring success. I slapped a $500 bid down on that baby, $150 more than I expected to bid. I worked the day the auction ended, so thank the good Lord I was orienting my new grad nurse who had the full patient load at that point. I watched the auction end as my heart raced in my throat and won for half my highest bid! So, if you don't follow me on Twitter I'm sure you're saying by now, COME ON DORY!!! JUST POST A PICTURE OF IT!!! Ok, ok! Here it is:
The extrememly rare 3 Beast 2001 Pokémon Center Chocolate Gallettes Tin. It's so much bigger than I expected!!!
Here it is snuggled in to its new home amongst other Entei :D I had to rearrage to fit it in since it was so much bigger than I anticipated! I'm still kind of in awe that I own this! It has completely rekindled my love for collecting Entei and I want more! XD I have only 3 more figures left to go and they're proving impossible to find! :C
