Shudder...(Don't read if you'r squemish or Nick goes morbid)

Earlier today I was watching some show on Bravo about the scariest moments in horror films. And for the most part, the movies that I had seen I agreed with.

(Couldn't really tell if Hostel's tendon cutting scene was truly horrifying, because I only saw the cut out of context...although anytime some guy tries to walk without a tendon...yeah pretty nasty.)

Later on tonight Misery was on Sci-fi. And it made me think, I didn't see Misery on that list. Now maybe, because I didn't watch the entire thing, but I really hope it was on the list.

As I wrote in a previous blog, I think Misery is one of the scariest movies made. But at the same time, Rob Reiner makes such a good movie, that it's hauntingly realistic. Not that I'm saying I've ever been captured and held captive by a deranged fan (I don't think I have any deranged fans), but he captures the emotion of fear that Stephen King brillantly delivered in the book.

But that is where my favorite scary scene comes in. The hobbling scene. It always makes me squemish. My body comes in tight and I cover my eyes with my hands or a pillow. Just like the scene from American History X, where Ed Norton curb stomps the guy. So realistic and horrifying that I just can't watch.
